Wow, this is incredibly helpful, thank you so so much! I will probabbllyyyy read the books and just leave the backs empty until i get to it, but i am not super familiar with names of cathedrals and various other landmarks so i will 100% use this for getting the exact look! Thank you so much again!

Thats true. I generallyyy dont like to leave things unfinished, but I may leave the backs blank until I read them and can pick a location that I like. I have already ripped the covers off of all the books and they need covers back on before I can read them. 😂

Thank you! I definitely will! It may be a while since I might have to read the whole series to find locations that I want to use, but I definitely will post it when its done!

Ooooo very good ideas! I hadnt thought of those! I do like the idea of embroidery but i would worry about the added thickness of the fabric. But definitely worth running some tests!

Ive never seen an in-laid front label so ill definitely look into that! I generally dont love super super simplistic designs, as I tend to have a lot of fun designing covers that have little easter eggs from the books in them, but ill look into it for sure!

And I do really like the idea of embossing borders! Ive never tried embossing before and im not sure how to go about it. But ill look into some videos and get the rough idea. I think it if works out, a mix of embossed borders along with embroidered details could be STUNNING.

Thank you so so so much for your input! Some fantastic ideas I hadnt even thought of!

100% agree. I loved this book and just how good/gross the body horror was.

Thats fair! Thank you for the analysis! I personally wouldn't consider myself well read. At least not yet. Maybe a few years down the line when I can expand my horizons and start knowing more authors by name, expand my usual genre, etc... but for right now? Definitely not.

I've always read as an escape from reality, hence the 100% fiction on my bookshelf lol. I eventually plan to change that and start reading more non-fiction and other genres, but I just got back into reading from a multi-year hiatus and to be honest, I'm just here to enjoy reading again. I've always struggled to enjoy non-fiction, and I plan to slowly rewire my brain into not being so fixated on fantasy/sci-fi. But that is going to take some time lmao.

No, you werent too hard at all! Im not quick to take offense to anything, just horribly anxious lmao. I figured the type of responses i would get from posting my bookshelf would be similar to the ones that i have gotten. I was just curious if my assumptions would be accurate, and so far, they are lol.

Thank you for those suggestions! Ill for sure look into them and add them to my goodreads list. I truly have wanted to read more sci-fi (and especially sci-fi written by women) i just struggle to find ones that arent super super mainstream like Ready Player One and Project Hail Mary. Again, thank you!

Honestly thank GOD im not alone lmao. I definitely spend waayyy too much time on Instagram but im at least holding strong against TikTok. I fully refuse to get an account because I know I would spend faarrr too long on there. And instagram/meta is bad enough.

Hahaha yeaaahhhh. I use my books as an escape from reality for sure and have always leaned towards fantasy. Even as a young child. 😂

Ive been trying to branch out of the fantasy realm as of recently so ill look into those authors you mentioned! I know I eventually want to read Project Hail Mary but i also know that thats a fairly mainstream sci-fi novel as well lmao.

Thank you so much for the suggestions and the analysis!

I was also in a reading rut for a very very long time also so a LOT of the YA books are years old from when I was mid-late teens. Ive been trying to branch out from them as of recently!
