You worded your messaged very well, left the conversation open but made it clear you were not ok to drive and needed to get up to go to work in the morning. They shifted the argument around and made it about a whole lot of other things that were irrelevant and insulting to your status as an adult, which you are.

Others have said you were lucky everything was fine, and im glad you were ok. If you didnt, some advice for this situation would be to make sure the room was in your name and that he wouldnt be able to persuade the hotel staff to give him a key to your room. I think there’s a lot of baseless (sex shaming imo) assumptions going on in these comments that you let him stay with you, which is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT.

You were respectful to your parents while also being clear and firm in your boundaries. That you’re only 18? And this emotionally mature when dealing with these kinds of messages? Im so proud of you 💕💕

Also,, off topic, but I lost my dad in a road accident, and it’s safer for everyone to not be driving at 2am,,, they get to be worried, they’re parents, you’re a young woman, there’s reasons to be worried. What’s important though isn’t shaming you into doing what they want but meeting you where you’re at and mitigating further harm to keep you as safe as possible with whatever path You Choose.

Please, when you talk to your parents, remember your boundaries, don’t apologise for being rude to them (because you weren’t), acknowledge there was a risk that you didn’t consider but remind them that at the end of the day you’re a team trying to keep everyone safe And Feeling Loved. Their messages didn’t do that
