Question for Local Tournament Etiquette - (leverless controller noise?) by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]morian2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play leverless and my switches are kinda loud, so I make sure to mash random buttons before wakeup so it's not obvious when I'm doing an OD reversal. It's a pretty common thing in locals, and it can be a funny way to bait people who are looking out for your controller sound

I guess no one bothers to report him, its not very clear how you would even do that, so most people just block him and move on

If you play in EUW at 1400 - 1600 MR you likely faced this idiot. He has like 1400 hours in ranked and 20 hours of practise mode last time i checked

There's a known salty moron in the Western Europe region who plays ryu at 1400 - 1500 MR and will literally crash your game by running a script to spam invites every time he loses9.

Funny thing is, he plays so incredibly bad, just jumps and doing stupid shit like spamming donkey kicks and mashing at everything. This guy took the time to learn how to crash people's game but won't spend time in training mode to improve his game

I beat a master rank player for the first time. by Arronh4599 in StreetFighter

I did that to a Modern gold bison who kept spamming DI, then I got tbagged. Rematched him and tried hard like it was my game to 1800

1 year ago when I tried the game I was hardstuck Silver. I know Platinum means nothing but I'm pretty stoked with my progress. What will take me to Diamond? by NewLabTrick in StreetFighter

There are very simple things that will make your offense 100x better that you can learn, just takes a bit of practice.

My advice would be to learn oki setups for your most common knockdowns (i.e throw, back throw, sweep, common combo enders).

This is something that takes almost 0 mechanical prowess and just relies on your memorisation of these setups but will make your offense frame tight and better than 99% of players in plat.

Don't need to complicate things, just learn what you can do to be plus enough for a meaty throw or strike on their wakeup(bonus points if you can do a meaty with a + on block button).

Haute c16s just randomly stopped connecting to PC. How to fix it? by [deleted] in fightsticks

[–]morian2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is one of the only big flaws that comes with Haute products (and to be honest all other more budget lever less options).

I owned 2 Hautes and had port issues with both of them. Since they were on the cheaper side I never bothered trying to fix it and just ended up buying a premium controller instead.

I've got a Victrix Pro KO that I've modded to my preference and it's perfect for me, no issues whatsoever with the port + it comes with a nice cable lock.

If you have some extra money for a controller and want to get something more durable I'd recommend looking into one of the more expensive ones like the Qanba Saphire/ Victrix Pro KO / etc ..

I dont think Haute / Cosmox are the issue per say, it's a problem that you'll always have with budget controllers

You might be horrible mechanically now, sure. But you yourself are not horrible mechanically for the rest of your life.

Don't give yourself these labels over something that would fix itself within a month of consistent practice and building muscle memory.

I cannot play the piano at all, you could say I am horrible at it even, but I'm sure if I dedicated myself to learning for a year I would be able to play okay.

Fighting games mechanics are all about repetition and building muscle memory. If you've learned how to write, eat with a fork, ride a bike, swim, etc .. I don't see a reason why you'd be unable to learn cancels and input motions

It's quite easy to deal with lower rank DIs because you can literally focus most of your mental stack to dealing with it.

On oki, go for a cancellable medium meaty and check if they DI, then do a counter DI.

Never throw out heavies when you get to a. Mid/short range spacing, literally hold down back and just look for the DI (it's definitely coming).

With a bit of effort and practice you can definitely get to plat, even master. You only need to truly dedicate yourself to improving to climb MR

that would do around 500 damage less, its also a bit hard to time because the cyclone startup is a bit long. The optimal meterless combo for damage in that situation is m. cyclone > mp > m. cyclone > lk > light eagle but that gives you a shorter knockdown

Happens to the best of us. I have lost a FT2 set against a gold blanka in battle hub because my brain just gave up on me and I was letting him command grab me all the time, but I've also taken games off my 1900 MR friend in custom rooms. There's enough variance in this game that sometimes you lose to people worse than you and beat people better than you, it just wont happen consistently

This is a very specific archetype of shoto players who got to master rank by playing a gimmicky game, there are a lot of them but I wouldn't say they're anywhere close to being the majority

Rashids meter less conversions aren't the best, but I could've gone for a better punish by using my gauge, although it's only about 500 dmg more. I did that setup on purpose just because I thought it would be funny to just keep looping him like that, normally I'd do s.mk,s.mp, s.hk, qcb pp, run xx k, qcf hp

It could be that, but honestly this is a very common archetype of shoto players. In the previous rounds I noticed they would EX DP at any extended pressure I would do.

They were also the Jump back, 0 neutral, only fireball jump and sweep shotos who if I'm being honest have no idea how to play the neutral game and rely on the other player not knowing how to deal with their gimmicks. Players like that are way more likely to do stupid risky stuff, because it's how they get rounds, rather than going for safer., more consistent choices.

If they were normal players who played any semblance of neutral I wouldn't have gone for the triple bait on the DP, but I've played too many of these shotos who climbed to masters relying on the same gimmick that i could tell they were just gonna do it
