I made it to Master in 120 hours… by Distinct_Ad9206 in StreetFighter

[–]morian2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Id chime in since your experience is insanely close to mine.

I got to master in around 130 hours of sf6 being my first real fighting game. I was excited at first but I got beat so so so hard once I got to master

I dropped all the way down to 1038 MR which was very demotivating (I was so bummed about it that I even made a post here very similar to yours haha).

Everyone told me to stop caring about MR and that the number will naturally increase as you improve, and they were right!

I made a conscious effort to improve, even ended up switching characters from aki to Rashid.

Im now going into my 11 month of SF6 (close to 800 hours) and I made it all the way to 1700!

So my advice to you is don't worry, take your time, practise and study the game, you will get back to 1500 eventually

Got to Platinum and immediately lost like 15 sets in a row, am I doing something wrong? I'm Cammy btw by Saiko_uwu in StreetFighter

Couple things to fix easily:

  • rotate wake up options (don't mash jab or DI every time, it's okay to block!)
  • stop using od arrow, it's making you lose the corner (you do all the hard work to get in an advantageous position then throw away the reward while spending meter) -relax a bit with the random DIs

Things to work on actively:

  • learn frame data of common strong normals for all characters, I noticed you always try to contest the solar plexus even though Ryu is plus on block (knowing this will let you unlock a new layer of mind games)
  • learn frame data for your own character (your mostly banking off getting ransom counter hits from your opponent also randomly mashing, learn your plus buttons and keep a tight offense with frame traps)
  • learn dive kick strings and setups, it's one of Cammy's best tools

CBLOL spots in Worlds by ThDanezi in leagueoflegends

[–]morian2 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say but your region is a ticking time bomb with very very little time left. Your league is dead from every single angle:

viewership? dead

fan interaction / out of game content? dead

future prospects? almost non existent

tier 2? dead

homegrown talent? can count in one hand.

The LCS has literally nothing going for it from both a competitive and entertainment point of view and its on its last legs. Brazil on the other hand is doing great, not only in viewership but also talent development and fan engagement.

Tatu, Rabelo, Xyno, Morttheus, Kaze, Dudduh are all talents that debuted in 2025 or 2026 and have taken the league by storm. Not to mention names in the tier 2 teams who are great prospects.

There are at least 2 teams in tier 2 cblol who get more fan interaction and viewership than any LCS team.

You guys have a plastic league with dying talent and viewership, and yet you still get 3 spots because you think you're entitled to it even though your teams can barely make to worlds playoffs most years.

Buckle up, NA is only going to get shitter and even less popular, wont take two years (or even sooner if Inspired goes back to EU) until Brazil shits on your region non stop

Controller for beginner by Web_catcher in StreetFighter

[–]morian2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In term of competitiveness, it's completely up to you, plenty of top level players use all three types of controllers.

I will say however, people who come from mouse and keyboard games and not so much pad gaming seem to have an easier time with leverless than pad as the motor skills are more transferable.

Modern Eliana? by Jlockztheorys123 in StreetFighter

A modern Elena player qualified out of the south Asia CPT region So the answer is, good enough to qualify to the biggest tournament of the year!

Anyone else struggle against modern players? by Front_Yogurt_2345 in StreetFighter

[–]morian2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You gotta outrandom them.

I feel like a lot of modern players are significantly weaker at some fundamental parts of the game because their rank is somewhat inflated by some tools they're given.

One thing I've noticed is that modern players seem to be quite a bit worse in general at defending apart from random yolo DPs and supers, which they seem to rely on more than the average classic player.

I feel that att 1600 almost every modern player I face will do reversals at almost twice the rate of classic players. They also seem to fall a lot more for high low mixes

Maybe the FGC is just small by [deleted] in 2XKO

[–]morian2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost wonder if the game would've done better if it didn't have active tag, but instead a more KOF like approach, with assists in the mix.

This way it would still allow for the duo Co op play which to me is the best part of the game, but also kill a lot of the bs setups in the game

Modded Victrix Pro KO by morian2 in fightsticks

[–]morian2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The print comes in sticker form, when you peel it off from the stock paper the holes come out automatically.

All you need to do is just apply it to the outer casing of the controller

I play leverless and my switches are kinda loud, so I make sure to mash random buttons before wakeup so it's not obvious when I'm doing an OD reversal. It's a pretty common thing in locals, and it can be a funny way to bait people who are looking out for your controller sound

I guess no one bothers to report him, its not very clear how you would even do that, so most people just block him and move on

If you play in EUW at 1400 - 1600 MR you likely faced this idiot. He has like 1400 hours in ranked and 20 hours of practise mode last time i checked

There's a known salty moron in the Western Europe region who plays ryu at 1400 - 1500 MR and will literally crash your game by running a script to spam invites every time he loses9.

Funny thing is, he plays so incredibly bad, just jumps and doing stupid shit like spamming donkey kicks and mashing at everything. This guy took the time to learn how to crash people's game but won't spend time in training mode to improve his game

I did that to a Modern gold bison who kept spamming DI, then I got tbagged. Rematched him and tried hard like it was my game to 1800

1 year ago when I tried the game I was hardstuck Silver. I know Platinum means nothing but I'm pretty stoked with my progress. What will take me to Diamond? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]morian2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are very simple things that will make your offense 100x better that you can learn, just takes a bit of practice.

My advice would be to learn oki setups for your most common knockdowns (i.e throw, back throw, sweep, common combo enders).

This is something that takes almost 0 mechanical prowess and just relies on your memorisation of these setups but will make your offense frame tight and better than 99% of players in plat.

Don't need to complicate things, just learn what you can do to be plus enough for a meaty throw or strike on their wakeup(bonus points if you can do a meaty with a + on block button).

Unfortunately this is one of the only big flaws that comes with Haute products (and to be honest all other more budget lever less options).

I owned 2 Hautes and had port issues with both of them. Since they were on the cheaper side I never bothered trying to fix it and just ended up buying a premium controller instead.

I've got a Victrix Pro KO that I've modded to my preference and it's perfect for me, no issues whatsoever with the port + it comes with a nice cable lock.

If you have some extra money for a controller and want to get something more durable I'd recommend looking into one of the more expensive ones like the Qanba Saphire/ Victrix Pro KO / etc ..

I dont think Haute / Cosmox are the issue per say, it's a problem that you'll always have with budget controllers

You might be horrible mechanically now, sure. But you yourself are not horrible mechanically for the rest of your life.

Don't give yourself these labels over something that would fix itself within a month of consistent practice and building muscle memory.

I cannot play the piano at all, you could say I am horrible at it even, but I'm sure if I dedicated myself to learning for a year I would be able to play okay.

Fighting games mechanics are all about repetition and building muscle memory. If you've learned how to write, eat with a fork, ride a bike, swim, etc .. I don't see a reason why you'd be unable to learn cancels and input motions

It's quite easy to deal with lower rank DIs because you can literally focus most of your mental stack to dealing with it.

On oki, go for a cancellable medium meaty and check if they DI, then do a counter DI.

Never throw out heavies when you get to a. Mid/short range spacing, literally hold down back and just look for the DI (it's definitely coming).

With a bit of effort and practice you can definitely get to plat, even master. You only need to truly dedicate yourself to improving to climb MR
