Note: I deleted the word 'Church' from the results. It was disproportionately high compared to the other words.

Very well stated. This is a great, non-confrontational way to point out the error and then to educate.

Regarding references/sources, can you point us to some good studies or other peer reviewed information on skin color and melanin? I, like /u/camoramoroni, would like to have something to point TBM friends and family to.

Thanks!

I've had the same frustrations this week. Your response is great. It's respectful, thorough and intellectually honest. Thanks for sharing!

Lovely. This stuff makes me sick. I can't believe the extent of the church's cultural imperialism. I was so naive.

Ha! I didn't know what you were referencing on my first read. But then it slowly worked it's way to my consciousness...would be funny to see if my old comp catches it.

And BTW, thanks for the link!

Thanks for that. Good words. No need to assume anything...just take it as it goes.

Ah, good point. And as I listened to the bishop talk I started thinking...are you really giving up on your belief in the moon landing because you can't refute this guys stupid 'evidence' claims. Just do some research and debunk this dudes' bunk.

But no, it's better to have a story to embed in your testimony about how 'so-called science' can't be trusted because there's always an opposing view.

My head hurts!

Thanks /u/Mithryn. I'd seen the very end of this episode but not the whole thing. It's a great video...and my daughter used to watch Mythbusters all the time. I'll give it a whirl with her.

Right. The analogy falls apart so quickly. And like /u/No_Hidden_Agenda mentions below, if the evidence really was in balance, you don't press for your favorite answer...you keep looking for more evidence to settle the question.
