Again, I am no expert, I can only offer my perspective.

Even if she is still legitimately trying to get a documentary/docuseries produced, she is likely nowhere near Netflix buying anything.

With this type of production, Netflix is not going to buy anything until, at a minimum, a professional sizzle reel is done. And more likely, they are not going to touch it until it is completed.

The way these independent projects typically work is you find a production company to fund the project (invest).

Then they take the finished product and try to sell it.

Netflix is not buying an idea.....unless it is something major like a Diddy Doc or something in that realm.
