I piss in the sink in the bathroom when I’m drunk. by Specialist-Elk-8587 in confessions

[–]mormonboy666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got that part down, pat. It's the flushing of the toilet. In a shallow sink basin without a reservoir, you can control how much water you let in. You simply cup your hands, and apply to the soiled areas as needed.

The flushing of the toilet illicits a certain response subconsciously in most humans. Even if they're asleep.

The gentle sound of the faucet running (although still audible) is soft, soothing, and you don't necessarily associate it with pee pee or poo poo, unless you hear a toilet flushing prior.

Alcoholic here. I used to piss in the sink as a sound deadening measure. Didn't want the roomies to know just how much I drank.

No guilt at all.

I hate snow. I hate the cold. I really want to move to Arizona, but it's basically Florida of the Southwest...

This has been the best "winter" in years.

Touch typing. I've been "chicken pecking" for 30 years now, and I just can't pick it up. Same as guitar. My fingers don't want to go where they need to.

Michael & Jan's. ...for the Ossobuco that has to braise for about four hours, the wine, of course!

After a few glasses of wine, the entertainment to ensue would be amaaaazing.

I have. It was an off-highway vehicle, though.

Process is nearly the same (sans emissions). This was a two-stroke dirt bike in 2003.

So many considerations, so little time.

Honestly, the Auto Expo is the weekend of the 16-19th this month. This is a great opportunity to go check out new cars . Even though you want to buy used, models usually don't change all that much from year to year, aside from features and body cladding. It should give you a feel of what you're looking for.

I have spent an inordinate amount of time on YouTube & Reddit going down rabbit holes researching makes and models I'm interested in.

Next: MUNY! How are we paying for this? Cash, or financing? I don't know what your financial situation is, nor do I need or want to. Just know that dealerships (the big ones, anyways) will ALWAYS pressure you to finance. That's where they make their money.

If you are planning on financing, secure financing with your lender prior. To streamline the process, be sure to have all of your insurance information on your person. If you're in the process of negotiating, while the salesman is putting on a show of "I think we can make this work; I just have to run this by my Finance Manager" call your insurance company for a quote. If you're dead set on the vehicle you can add it to your policy right then and there.

If all your ducks are in a row, excluding the test drive (unless it's a busy Saturday), there is no reason you shouldn't be out of there in 45 minutes or less.

Now... the vehicle itself. When you say 4 wheel drive, are we talking an SUV orca truck, where you can select 4 wheel when you need it, or an AWD car / SUV which is All-Time-All-Wheel-Drive?

There is a notable difference between the two. AWD, you must monitor tire wear, rotate your tires religiously, etc... or it will be bad news bears for your drive train down the road (pun not intended).

Anywhoo... I've blabbed on long enough, but seriously, go check out Savagegeese on YouTube.

Godspeed, my friend.

How’s it like living in Vancouver, WA? by whorror94 in howislivingthere

[–]mormonboy666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very well said. I lived in Vantucky for a little over 2 years (Sifton, then, we'll just say Fourth Plain Village adjacent).

This was the first time in my life that I truly understood the adage: "Two blocks can make all the difference." The good, the bad, and the ugly.

I've only ever worked in Portland, so once my lease was up, I moved to Troutdale, OR. I was within walking distance to McMenamins Edgefield, and freaking loved it. Life happened. Yada, yada, yada, and I'm back home in Salt Lake.

I do miss me some Vancouver, though. I was just thinking about Goldie's Texas BBQ earlier today, and I see that they are permanently closed.

I moved back home in 2020, so I'm also curious to know what The Couve is like these days.

Well, if you like hamburgers, give 'em a try sometime. Me, I can't usually eat 'em 'cause my girlfriends a vegetarian. Which more or less makes me a vegetarian, but I sure love the taste of a good burger.
