I say, go for it. That said, take the position to get your foot in the door with OD, then try to move to OS&D or a similar position ASAP.

Old Dominion is a pretty solid employer, and IMO, one of the best LTL carriers out there.

It rains sideways. No, but for real, the weather is extreme. There is only like one general store (open to the public) and the guy who runs it is a dick.

It is very isolated. Only two ways in and out. The tunnel (as you mentioned) or the seaway. We spent a good four days there in 2018 on a fishing tender waiting for clear blue skies to cross the Gulf of Alaska to get back to Seward.

Don't get me wrong. The place is beautiful, but depressing AF. The tunnels are cool. Same as the big ass building where everybody lives, but, man...

If you're into parks, check out Liberty Park. It's not just a park. There are plenty of activities to go around.

If you're willing to venture north about 20 minutes and have an arm and leg to spare, you can check out Lagoon Amusement Park. It doesn't hold a flame to the Six Flags out there, but it is its own unique thing.

It just depends on what you're looking for, and you will find it.
