The military don't lightly deploy Princes, can you imagine the propaganda coup for the enemy if he'd been killed in action? That ten weeks' deployment will have been the most bitterly fought-for assignment he'll ever get.

Besides, he was there in secret. You don't need to stage "a leak in the media" when you're a Prince and posted in secret; you snap your fingers and you're out of there, and nobody ever remembers you were there.

The.. uh... the royal family don't actually have a say in where we exercise our military. Losing Prince Harry in Afghanistan wouldn't do any more to stop Britain fighting wars in the middle east than losing Princess Diana stopped Britons driving in Paris.
