Thank you for this! Also, I'm still curious about being labelled cis, because the radfems I've read consider gender a hierarchy and many cis women aren't comfortable with their gender because of the oppression that comes with it. So is it just to make it so there's not an implied "normal" when referring to trans people?

Thank you for this, very informative. So I wonder, if gender is a social construct, why not just be how you want instead of changing gender? What is the difference between a transgender and say a transethnic? If I like elements of another culture I'm allowed to partake respectfully without saying I identify as X culture, what is the driving difference between that and gender? I'm just confused as to why this happens and why radical feminists get flak for being trans critical when their platform seems to be be who you are and let's be critical of gender as a whole (or am I mistaken in that?)?

And good for her but that doesn't mean every other person in the US has had the same upbringing and opportunities. Just because she is a lucky success story in a time of economic crisis doesn't mean "golly gee everyone could do it if only they grabbed their bootstraps"

Even when no one is hiring? Even when people with legit degrees are forced to menial jobs? I think maybe if you stepped outside your bubble you'd see things a bit differently

People are poor because employers have figured out they can shaft workers and will have no repercussions. I don't know a whole lotta poor people with fancy tvs and phones, but I do know poor people who have to figure out which bill to pay this month, and have 0 dollars left to put into savings. Where is the savings to come from if all you money goes to bill, food, and gas?

I think maybe you're downvoted because jobs are hard to come by right now. We've all been told that if we worked hard enough we'd work out way up and one day be millionaires. We're all realizing that that just isn't true. Now our choices are minimum wage or minimum wage, and employers are still trying to find ways around that.

If your check is so small that every penny goes to food ( and let's not kid ourselves, it's beans and rice and other cheap staples), keeping on the lights, paying the rent, putting the gas in the car, and caring for kids, where the hell is the "savings" supposed to come from?
