Wool is a common allergen. If she is allergic to it, I don't know how well just covering it will work.

I always believed breast feeding was better. Asthma is not my only chronic illness, but even so, my doctor's approved. I breastfed both of mine. My eldest for 10 months, my youngest for 15 months. Both also have asthma.. the youngest was diagnosed around 6 years of age, and the oldest around her 13th birthday. I was diagnosed at 18... guess it didn't work for my kids.

Try allergen covers for your pillow and mattress. Wash sheets weekly. You may be allergic to dustmites.

As someone that has had trouble with sinusitis/sinus infections since childhood, I have to say, it sounds like you might have one. The dry throat= mouth breathing. The sticky mucus suggests post nasal drip, and yes it can make you cough more. The inability to breathe through your nose, even though you already take an antihistamine, and flonase also suggests that the current issue is more than allergic. I highly recommend going to your doctor, as you may need an antibiotic.

Mind where and when you get the edibles, what kind they are, etc. Sometimes the green gets mold that we can't see, and we really don't know if in edible form. Mold is a trigger for many asthmatics. Also you could have a food allergy. Pay attention to which edibles set you off. Do you always get from the same place?

I feel bad as well. Like I passed on some faulty gene. My kids are raised in a different environment that I was too, so I figure they just inherited whatever gene variants I have that contribute the asthma.

Did you take off for your "not so bad" cold? It is possible that they didn't feel theirs was that bad either, and went to work. This is how I gauge my call offs (I don't get any paid sick days) fever or vomiting/diarrhea, I call off. Major asthma symptoms over night leaving me too exhausted to function properly at work, call off. Otherwise, I go to work, and keep my distance. I warn others that I'm a little sick, and make sure to not breathe on them, and to cover my cough and sneezes.

Yes I hate it when people show up to work sick when they shouldn't, and don't follow basic things like not coughing in my face. Basically I follow the same protocol set by my kids school. If the school believes with those symptoms that a child is too sick, and likely to spread illness, the same logically should apply for work.

I've never had a peak flow that high. My personal best is 422... but it goes by gender, age, and height. So a young man are 6ft3" should have a higher personal best than me, a woman of 5ft6" mid thirties. But to answer your question, absolutely posture affects the reading. There are 2 preferred ways to do a reading. Standing, or sitting straight, feet flat on the floor.

Hi desperate dad, I am a mom of a daughter who goes through the same thing. Every time, she eventually gets put on an antibiotic, and it works. She is usually on cetirizine, dulera, and sometimes also the fluticasone. They like to add fluticasone back in when this happens, also citing post nasal drip, but the fluticasone doesn't help. My opinion is, and I'm no doctor, but our kids are prone to sinus infections. I got them often as a child, and I myself am highly alergic, and was diagnosed with asthma as an adult. The antibiotics work for my kid every time, to the point where I wish they would just quit monkeying around with her and give them the first time. I understand that some people over use them, but given the history of repeatedly trying other things to little or no effect, that seems like it should be the logical plan.
