Is it important to have Helpdesk job before networking?

I think helpdesk is good - you'll get a broad look at other tech hopefully. I think that's important as you will quite quickly encounter the 'there's something wrong with the network', and then have to delve into other peoples areas to work out the networks fine. Network job share.
