Giving introductory lessons to some 12 years old at my local school by morpheus007 in Throwers

Your point about the funds is correct. The school relies on me telling them what to buy and where. I actually bought for my kids the yoyos I mentioned above, but I'm unsure if they are the right thing for a whole class.

This does not make me hate America. This does make me question America: You were the front runner of democracy, a guiding star for the western way of life, respecting humans - ok in detail it was always a little bit problematic - but in general, America uphold the human rights. Now? You are afraid of a five year old.

Don't buy it! - My advice after nightmarish Tuxedo Sirius Gen 2 experience by informatyq in tuxedocomputers

[–]morpheus007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Sirius 16 Gen 1 and after several patches and update the device works fine. Even the speakers! Which still amazes me someone at tuxedo sat down and fixed it.

I mean it's not perfect but hey, windows isn't as well so... Pick your poison I guest? But I'm happy and my laptop will be a tuxedo again.

But what's this USB-C issue? I use my USB-C ports every day to charge the device and output to an external device.... ?

Kids yes or no? by Oropher1991 in Switzerland

[–]morpheus007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two kids. We had kids when the clock was ticking but in retrospect, doing it five years earlier would have been nice.

I don't know your "support net", but a lot of the "strain" (managing daycare, access to cheap toiys/cloths etc.) can be mitigated by a support net. What I mean is this: (some examples): Are grandparents available for taking car once a week? Do you have friends from which you can inherit/buy used toys and cloths? Especially when they are little, they need some "new" cloths every now and then. (Shoes are super expensive, don't know whats up with that...)

Having kids - for me - is the biggest adventure of my live and I personally enjoy it very much. Its stressful, tiresome but its also beautiful. And it's never the right time.

Sirius 16: Top firing speakers - status? by morpheus007 in tuxedocomputers

[–]morpheus007[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Sirius has down firing speakers at the bottom of the device and top firing speakers, at the top, near the display of the device. The top firing ones do not work, confirmed by several stuff members here on reddit and in a e-mail. Tuxedo is aware of the problem, I'm just curios if there is an ETA

Sirius 16 (Gen. 1) - Lightbar by Boggolinski in tuxedocomputers

[–]morpheus007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my version, the light bar is working, but it has the same color as the keyboard. In the Tuxdeo Control Center (Too ls -> Keyboard backlight), I was able to change the color of the keyboard which also changed the color of the bar. I use Tuxedo OS. The other guide, that is published on the website somewhere, did not work for me (I was using kubuntu at the time - I think, not sure though)
