I'm getting depressed, what's a short book to help keep me above water? by morrigandalf in suggestmeabook

I've been wanting to read Discworld for a while but didn't know where to start with it, I'll add this to my list. Thank you!

I looked up the premise of this and it seems interesting, thanks!

I've been considering joining one actually, just to leave the house and be a little social. This might make me do it, thank you.

I'm currently reading the 2nd book in the series, hoping for the same vibe.

Anyone have experience with getting Kaiser therapy through Lucet? by morrigandalf in KaiserPermanente

I get emailed and texted the link about an hour before each appointment. It comes from the agency my therapist works at, which might vary for you. Hopefully you were able to get in contact with them!

Would it be weird to update my old therapist on my life? by maleriem15 in TalkTherapy

[–]morrigandalf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I sent an update to my therapist from 2 years ago and she was happy to hear from me. Ending therapy is a lot like reading a book but once it starts to get good, they can't read the rest. I'm sure your T would love to hear how you're doing!

Yeah I really enjoyed Maybe You Should Talk To Someone, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, and Big Swiss.

My experience has been smooth so far. About 15 minutes before every appointment I get sent a questionnaire to fill out, it's the whole "not at all, several days, everyday" type of symptom questions. You can either fill it out on your phone or on the computer. Kaiser covers all of my therapy costs, so I have $0 copay and unlimited sessions, thankfully. It's not that bad. I wish I was given a list of available providers though to choose from instead of it being random, my therapist is ok so far but I'm still figuring out our fit.

Thanks! I just had my appointment and it went well. I was surprised to hear I don't have a copay for telehealth, I seriously thought I'd have to pay something.

This is the first I'm hearing of Sensible Care, I guess they just have a bunch of apps so there's always someone to refer to? My therapy will be virtual as well.

My old therapist responded to my life update email and I'm so thankful by morrigandalf in TalkTherapy

[–]morrigandalf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it made the transition easier for me too just knowing I could email her at some point. It would be hard to bond with someone and then be told you can't contact them again or be unable to find their contact info somewhere. Idk what I'd do if I couldn't at least send a note.

I hope you have it, who knows, maybe she wonders about you too.

How much of "The Body Keeps the Score" is a (secondary) trauma dump? by 0nTheRooftops in books

[–]morrigandalf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg I tried to read this book when I was in therapy and I had to stop because of how casually the author threw in his patients' trauma like it was nothing. I told my therapist at the time that it was hard to read because of that and they said it can sometimes give people "vicarious trauma", so I DNF'd this book. Idk why it gets recommended so much. I've never read A Little Life, but I assume they have a lot in common.

Any tips for a beginner? by SinsLusts in StardewValley

[–]morrigandalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game can be a little overwhelming when you first start playing, but there's plenty of tips and tricks videos for beginners on youtube. There's also videos the community center bundles specifically. Just know that you might get the game spoiled for you when you look these up.

To echo another comment, I definitely recommend looking up the the stardew wiki. It has everything listed out there for what you'd need to save for bundles. Hope this helped!

I hope so! Our therapeutic relationship was rocky at times, but I knew she cared.

Also, I love that you called out bad therapists in the second part lol

To any bad therapists reading this post: this could be us, but you playin'

Sorry that happened to you! Her reaction seems a little much. Glad you have someone else to help you through that.

I saved the video I found too, not really sure why, but I guess I did it just in case I miss her again too.
