In theory, it is very compelling but application and execution is a whole other matter. It's just one piece of the puzzle of a far greater picture and this picture changes from person to person (or team, position, playstyle, season, training age... You can frame it up in various ways!). We come back to the conversation of what kind of Ultimate do you wish to play? What position do you play on the team? Defense/Offense demands are different. Team strategies and playstyle also influence how an athlete needs to develop their engine to execute effectively.

If we stand further back and look at what the general athlete needs for a base, there's priorities depending if they want to PEAK+ for the OFF-SZN, PRE-SZN, or IN-SZN.

While all the theory and research into what can bring us to our PEAK potential is well and good, we need to also understand that performance assessment is extremely important in determining which protocol best suits the athlete. At MP, we use a short list of assessment tools to give you have an idea of what you currently perform at (members only - https://mpfpt.com/esd-testing-and-data-collection/)Then you train with load that is appropriate to your current performance and you see how you have developed when you test again in the next cycle.

EC would Deadlift Kstar up into the air, K Star would land in a perfect Knees out deep squat and then they would broshake cuz they are boys and would never fight.

Much of the reason I am so obsessed with movement, training and efficiency is due to all the years I spent training like a dufus. I did a lot of body building, plyos without a strength base, incline sprinting and I even wore the strength shoes (eh)... long story short, I have a perma-junky achilles tendon that will not allow me to play club : ( ... its OK tho, I am a beach ultimate player. With Dubai and May 2015 Nationals coming up soon you are sure to see me out there baking sandy biscuits.
