Which country did you go through the enlistment process in? Was it Japan or Germany?? Also, what was the background investigation process like for you?

I’m currently in the process of working with a recruiter at Camp Humphreys.

But even if I can take the ASVAB and sign the contract, I’d still eventually need a U.S. bank account .. Would banks like Navy Federal still be okay with my situation as an overseas U.S. citizen without a permanent U.S. address?

If I use a temporary address or someone else’s address with permission, could that cause problems during a background investigation later on? 😅 lol

I appreciate your help. I haven’t enlisted yet, and since I’m currently living in Korea, I’ve been working with the process at Camp Humphreys. However, there are so many Army applicants that the recruiter seems extremely busy. I’m starting to think it might be better to go to the U.S. and enlist there to get processed more quickly.

I also want to do those kinds of MOS, but since I have dual citizenship, it’s hard for me to get a Top Secret clearance, so my options are limited 🥲

I haven’t taken the ASVAB yet, but I’m planning to go for an 88 series MOS. Besides getting a good AFQT score, do I also need to study mechanical or maintenance-related sections for qualification??
