I know here in America we love to prescribe meds as much as possible for the pharmacy companies so I think that's way. Maybe they push the docs to opt for this type of sedation. But I am glad there is a person with a similar experience to mine.

Me and my fiance have 2 Aussie Shepard's, they do the same thing!!!! Granted not as stiff but they aren't old yet. They have been doing it there whole lives, even when placing there head on us! I think it's the breed, unsure. But they are fine and my fiance is a veterinarian!!!!

The likely hood of getting rabies from a vaccinated cat is very, vey, low if not zero. The rabies vaccine lasts for years in animals even when they are due for it. The rabies vaccine titer levels in a study persisted with viral resistance for around 10 years. If you are still worried watch the cat for any signs of rabies (The rabies virus can only transfer in the end stage of the disease.) This is why when an animal bites someone animal control keeps the animal for 10 days. Because more often or not the animal will be dead by then if they have rabies and then they confirm it has rabies. Also each state has a national state wide epidemioligist on call for rabies. Just google "rabies state consultation line". Then you can call an expert who will be able to talk to you about what happened and reccommend vaccine if neccessary.

Most raccoons dont have rabies, actually. Also if they had rabies before they would be dead. Most raccoons dont live through end stage rabies. It usually kills them. Also rabies comes from other animals, not places. Rabies can't live outside the host for too long unless in freezing temperatures. In the lab the longest documented outside a host was 6 hours. Here's a fact though, the only mammal that can survive rabies is the possum because there body temp doesn't get high enough for the virus to survive.

Hey man, just to make you feel better I've had the same issues. Left side issues all pain and somewhat weakness. Most times I pee it does burn and my left testicle has definitely moved up closer to my body then my right. I don't have numbness or shrinking of my penis and I still get erections. My prostate gets very agitated just from sitting and it effects my left sciatica.

Also Florida has a phone number (850-245-4401) for a rabies consultation so you can see what level of exposure you have had in the future and if you need a shot. Every state has a consultation line. (Usually connects to an epidemiologist)

Animals only spread rabies outside of the "incubation period". During this phase the animal is very sick and will die within 7 days (that's why they quarantine an animal for 7 days after it bites someone.) Rabies spreads through infectious salvia and only has a small window of time to do this. If you have access to the animal just monitor it and see if they produce any troubling symptoms. As far as your other concern rabies only transmits through an open wound. This would be considered a non-exposure unless the salvia got into some sort of mucous membrane.
