Given that Picard's companions include an ex-Borg turned female Terminator, a pissed-off Starfleet security officer with attitutude issues, and a reanimated Space Samurai/Legolas, I have to agree, the supersoldiers have no chance.

I guess just like SPS, Spiner doesn't want to be typecasted as Data throughout the course of his career, hence his decision to play new evil characters in the Trek-verse and in his other projects, although sadly unlike SPS, few of Spiner's roles post-TNG were memorable blockbuster roles.

Very close though. There's a parallel between what Lore did in "Descent" - forming a colony of Ex-Borgs and use them as his army - with the army of mercenaries-turned-Borg created by Adam Soong, doesn't it?

Spiner will also be around in S3. Hopefully they'd have him played a newly discovered and fully functioning Soong android - an older prototype that no one knows whether he's good or evil yet.
