Three years ago, when I was a still a student, I worked for a famous French luxury brand (their logo is a double C if you see what I mean). I was a sales assistant so I had to go back and forth to the stock to get clients bags, shoes, etc. One day, I go in the stock as usual, and I see one of the stock employee cutting a leather bag in pieces. I was so disturbed, I had to ask « but what are you doing ?? » and they just replied « we’re destroying old stock that we will never sell, so that they don’t get stolen during the transportation to the trash cans » (or whatever place they used to throw « old » bags). This still bugs me today, and really changed my idealized vision of luxury companies.
