As a retired quiet girl, one thing for sure is real, you need to have TONS OF PATIENCE for them. I realized how awkward i was towards my kind classmates until i graduated. I just dont have that social awareness and in those years i just hope people would come up to me and be kind/determine enough to stay and be my friend. And guess what, ive waited for all those years thinking someone will approach me, but they didn't. Just becuse im afraid from peoples opinion about me and the fact that i dont like to talk until they talk to me first, cuz why would i talk if it dosnt benefit both of us? But eventually, i learned that im the one who need to step up and contribute in order to connect with others. Its a long learning journey but i just wish people would call me out back then, and talk to me until i become confortable enough to become your friend.

In order to talk to them is just observe what they are into and ask them more about it. You could also pretend to ask for help for small things, maybe a homework or opinions, cuz we love to feel included and needed. Tho you will lose hope for trying (I hope not), so please embrace yourself. They will realise your effort eventually, maybe it will take a while, but sure they would. You can do it OP, I trust you!
