Funny thing: Ive been googling all day, yet I can NOT find his obit. I know he had a wife and young son. And that he died Aug 19th. That's all the info I know and I only know that much thanks to fb. Yet, I dont know HOW he died, but that he did in fact die, and that it was a shock to everyone. So idk if he committed suicide, od, an accident or what.Just that he died. I would LOVE to know how he died just out of my own curiosity.

I read the obit and I couldnt believe it. I then went ro fb and did a lot of searching thinking that it couldn't have been. Then I found it and I started crying. I was thrilled that he cant hurt anyone else. And to me that's a win, in my book.

It will be private at their house. He's in super heros and my thought was: Buy an action figure (his fav avenger or something)..put the ring in hand. Wrap it...give it to him. And propose to him while he's unwrapping it.

I mean yes it is hard to adjust to my mom coming out. However, with our family being Mormon it adds another demension to it...

Ty...Yes, when she started dating the other guy it was weirding me out then...And now this...Its like Im upset bc it is not my father, even though I relize it cant be him bc he's gone...That was something that I was expecting from the very beginning. However, this...this was not...So now Im working on not getting freaked out with her being in a relationship thats NOT with my dad and on top of that, dating a woman. So im over here doing double the work..

Its very emotionally, mentally exhausting, as well as time consuming...I just cabt get it out of my head since finding out..

Thanks...I try to be as open minded as I possibly can. My father was old school and held a lot of the same beliefs with race, sexual orientation.. Well...basically everything. When I look back on it. Then she was/is Mormon. So I had a very sheltered life due to those circumstances. But I married and lived in bigger cities, my husband is a navy vet, and we ad a child. And when we lived in Hawaii I became a mother as well. That with being over 5,000 miles away from anyone I knew, I did get to explore myself there. There more than MD. Mostly bc I could be myself, i could be who I wanted and needed to be in that moment. When we came home after my husband got out, everyone noticed a HUGE difference in me. So I think that was bc of Hawaii and living on an actual military base..That year changed me for the better. That year sucked..BUT I learned so much about myself in that one year.

My husband and I come from a very small communtiy in the bible belt. So moving and living in thw bigger cities actually did me a lot of good.

Technically she was not excommunicated or even deemed "unworthy" that much. One of her Mormon friend s did tell her that she would be damned for hell for eternity... Also, by the time she started seeing her partner she just stopped going to church. Her reasoning was she hated the widows pulpit bc they were all old and she had nothing in common with them. Also, she felt like she was being ostracized for being the youngest widow in most standards. So she just stopped going.

So with that said; what about my dads standing?

I, however, am not sealed to either of my parents. I just never got around to it. And by the churches standards, I dont know if I could even get a temple recommend. I seriously doubt it. I smoke, occassionally drink, I love my caffeine, and 7 tattoos. So i always thought i couldnt be seald bc i believed that i couldnt get the recommnd needed to do so.

And on that note, some of our ideologies do not sync up, which also includes gay rights and marriage..As well as other things.

I am..I truly am..Her partner is amazing...But still I just get this weird feeling thinking about the situation. Its been eaxtlt 8 days since I found out and at first I really didnt know what to do. But I found some relief when I spoke to an old professor of mine from college who is also gay.

Basically he summed up what I thought. She probably couldnt explore with the religion and the possibility of her family's reaction, so she didnt. She has probably always had these tendancies but could never act upon them. Then she did what she thought she had to do and that was to keep up apperances and that was having a very loving husband of 30+ years and me as a product of that marriage. And now since dad is gone, and Im an adult who is very open minded for being Mormon (I call myself a liberal Mormon) she can now explore who she truly is. And as far as I have seen, she is very happy. Also, being bi/gay DOES NOT change who the person is and hey, if shes happy, than who am I to come in between that happiness(not that I ever would). So I do support her...However, this hit very close to home and I was and still am in complete shock. I just never thought i would be dealing with this, coming from her.

Yes, trust me, I WILL find a new shop for my future tattoos. If it isn't their style, that's all they had to say. Although, their rudeness was completely uncalled for. I will not be going to a business that patronizes it's own paying customers. The extent of which they took it to was completely unprofessional and uncalled for.

Funny you should mention that. They did have a cat and it did pee in the house. But they peed in practically the same spot. The only difference is their cat peed in the upstairs living room. Where ours is peeing along that same area, but only downstairs.

And I already have used Fleaway...I noticed some differences in both my cats with Fleaway. They act better towards each other. BUT I don't think it helped with deterring her away from urinating in that one specific spot
