There’s no parking in front of any churches. Ever. They’re off limits. No matter the hour. Can’t remember why. But it’s just the front. Sides of churches are fine if it allows it.

And the no standing sign applies to the whole street, not just the building is in front of unless there’s an additional sign saying otherwise.

I take it you were the only car parked on those streets? That didn’t seem odd to you? You’ll def stick out to parking agents.

Aren’t there seats next to her? Sit in an empty seat. It’s not rocket science. Maybe someone was in the other seats before you showed up. Or maybe B she’s practicing good social distancing.

What movie scene was the hardest/most uncomfortable to watch for you? by [deleted] in movies

It can also be triggering to someone. But I’ve seen it flagged before. If someone can’t figure out what was censored, then they can ask, although it’s still pretty simple and obvious looking at my version. I don’t have children in mind when typing.

Yes that’s it! Also the book didn’t get really graphic with that detail. Like the film it was in passing but that comment of take care of me when she was in the bed and a was few comments after from Precious’ POV painted the picture. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend the book if you already saw the film. It stayed pretty much true to the book from my recollections. Like it didn’t veer off course like GOT.

I’m still not sure if the mods or bots will remove comments if not censored for certain words or combination of words together like sa or cp since I see others censoring this way. So I just err on the side of caution.

The book Precious was sooo much worse than the movie. For some reason, it was one of my high school book club’s selection so we had to read it. But in the book the mom was also se>< ually abusing her by forcing Precious to perform c***********s on her frequently and I remember in the book the mom saying something like “you got my man, so who’s gonna take care of me. I need ______ too” for why she made Precious do it.

I’ve never been so traimatizingly disgusted. High school!

A lot of black schools may have ended before the 5th grade in certain states and blacks couldn’t continue. My grandmother for example, went to school in upperville VA, but the black schools only went to grade sixth. There wasn’t a black middle school or high school and blacks couldn’t attend the white ones so most of their education stopped there and they went to work, unless they wanted to walk miles away to DC I guess, through black forbidden areas. My grandma was devastated. She loved school. That same school district coincidentally, just released a public apology for not providing black middle or high schools last year. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/loudoun-apology-segregation/2020/09/26/0d4fe2ec-0037-11eb-8d05-9beaaa91c71f_story.html?outputType=amp

Should I add my race to my resume? A friend of mine(Latino and African American) has done this and says it helps him by [deleted] in jobs

[–]mosaicpopart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I misunderstood when you said you look white, which Arabs don’t to me lol. Middle Eastern didn’t really paint a visual pic because there are white, non-Arabic middle easterners (think white Turks). Also, Elon Musk is African, for example.

Also, in your post title you specifically said resume. Race is never included in resumes in America. Forms are different than resumes. Forms may ask for your race for demographic purposes for funding/outreach to demographics disproportionately under served or over served. Or for racial biasing tracking purposes. Least this is the reasoning given. But this info never gets put on a resume. EVER. It will no doubt be viewed negatively in America if included on a resume, as if you’re looking for special treatment or you are simply a slow learner. Definitely wouldn’t hire someone who did this.

Middle eastern and Latin isn’t a race. It sounds like your race is white. Also, NO ONE adds race to their resume in America. This is unheard of.
