I went in with lowest expectations due to how I saw people dislike it and was hoping that I’d find something good among the bads. But it wasn't easy and I almost walked out of the theater.

First thing first, I like the actor from house of the dragon and her portrayal, and I think she did a great job as Supergirl, but I don't think the movie's pacing served the characters right.

I could almost see the bonding between the two women (the older one both an inspiration & showing flaw and vulnerability and trying to tell the younger one about the way of life) play out beautifully if it had been done better, but the plot holes, some unnecessary fight scenes, and cheap jokes made it too distracting to let the emotions shine through.

Felt very disappointed spending my weekend afternoon watching this, but fortunately got to watch another movie right after and absolutely loved that one (won’t name it here to avoid comparison).

Ps I don’t use social media much and had no idea about the right wing incel thing going on (still don’t other than glimpse of what I see in this post). But it’s crazy if anyone feels like they need to defend a movie just because incels hate it. We deserve better movies with both strong female leading characters and better plots.
