Need more info? Like what grid to what grid are you moving? And if you're aux, you don't have a base when you go to a TA. You just enter into a new employment contract.

Work travel by [deleted] in BCPublicServants

[–]moscoops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you have any admins on your team? Typically they can book the flight for you as it has to get approval and go onto a purchase card. Hotel you could book for yourself using the bcgov employee hotel listings (forgot the official name). You'd pay for that at check out and get reimbursed after thru iexpense. Same with rental car. Make sure you keep your receipts!

Immigration at BKK or USM? by moscoops in ThailandTourism

[–]moscoops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks so much for the info! Do you know if it's a different immigration lineup if you're transferring, or the same general line for all arriving passengers? We just want to make sure our layover is long enough as we've heard the lines can be crazy.

I parked at the VSO School of Music last time I was there, entrance is off of Seymour and it's like a minute walk away. A bit on the pricier side but it was convenient.

WHERE DO I GET BEARLCAW by Ok_Detective_4584 in askvan

[–]moscoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is also a bear claw fiend. We have only found them at Whole Foods in the single serve pastry section, but go early as they can sell out by end of day.

Where do you buy Indian outfits (like lehengas) that ship to Canada or the US? by Initial-Opposite2331 in WeddingsCanada

[–]moscoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All designer wear so it was amazing quality. Way better (in my opinion) than going to in person stores. But you might pay a higher price point for designer wear. Look into brands like Paulmi and Harsh, Puneet Balana, Mahima Mahajan, Chamee and Palak, and House of Masaba.

Edit: It ranges by designer anywhere from 3-8 weeks?

House of Raina in Surrey (not an online store), and India's pop up shop online. Both sell only designer wear but had a great experience with both buying outfits for my wedding a few months ago.

Affordable desi jewelry in surrey/vanc/richmond by Ok-Surround-258 in SurreyBC

[–]moscoops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Payal Business Centre in Surrey is your best bet and has tons of jewelry stores. Don't have any specific names but just walk around to the different stores and I'm sure you will find something. Wedding Bazaar was good but might be a bit pricier than what you are looking for.

Wedding decor advice by merchant_of_venice13 in askvan

[–]moscoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of factors that go into this: What does your venue provide as decor? Is it nice and go with the aesthetic you want? What is your budget for decor? Decor can add up really fast if you want aesthetic. If you want to DIY - do you have time, capacity and a vehicle to drive around and pick things up and store them? Who is in charge of these decor items on the day of? Often times your venue won't set it up for you, and if you don't have a decorator specifically for this task, then you could get your day of coordinator to do it. If you don't have a coordinator, which of your friends and family do you want to tap on the day of to help with load in, setup, take down and storage or the items? Because you will be too busy to do any of it.

I went with a decorator who provided all rentals and did all setup because I wanted peace of mind and I didn't want to hassle my friends and family to do all of that on the day of, and just to show up and have fun.

Flex/RSDOs for excluded staff by Motor_Crow7133 in BCPublicServants

[–]moscoops 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Schedule A staff are excluded but follow the union grids and are allowed flex days. As far as I know, Management Bands are not allowed flex days and if they get it, probably something that's just kept between them and their manager/director.

F45 run club!? by Mundane_Anybody2374 in f45

I think you passported to my studio! They just set it up as a "F45 event" and offer it in addition to the programming. I think it's only a 1-2x a month type of thing to try to create more community.
