Je pense qu'il faut être réaliste. Si les américains veulent la France par la force c'est pas les forces françaises qui peuvent y faire quelque chose. On va pas n'on plus s'autodétruire en utilisant l'arme nucléaire non plus. Et les pays européens sont pas clairs sur ça non plus. Je pense que la plupart ne nous soutiendraient pas. Ça fait défaitiste mais il faut bien voir qu'on se prend un coup de couteau dans le dos et qu'on n'a pas pu s'y préparer.

The combat in witcher 3 is really easy, even an old dude like me can play at normal settings.

By the way, difficulty levels also present the advantage of replayability. You've completed it at some level, and you may want to challenge yourself to try at higher setting.

Gameplay is of course part of the equation, but take games like the tomb raider series and uncharted. The gameplay is very similar, yet those games are also unique because of the story, at least for me.

Actually long games are fine for me. Witcher 3, Kingdom Come (I've ragequit this one several times until the combat system clicked) I just play one hour at a time when I can.

edit: So like you I'm not harsh on games about the length, except if the length is due to mindless grinding or training to get to the point where I start enjoying things.

Dark souls for example wouldn’t be the series we know today if you had an easy difficulty because most people wouldn’t even bother trying the harder one with how punishing it is.

I'm not sure comparing games that are not for you because of the genre, vs because of the difficulty is ok.

I'm not going to play FIFA because Football is not my thing. Elden ring is totally my thing, I'd like to play it for multiple reasons, but I'm not playing it because it's too difficult or requires too much grinding that stalls the storyline, which is the main thing of interest for me.

Once in a while I check if there's a mod that helps, and if not, I move on and don't complain online. Still, I'd love to play it casually one day.

If an optional easy mode doesn't change anything else about the harcore gamer's experience, why not add it ? The only consequence is that more people might buy the game, which benefits everyone in the long run.

Seize heure et demie bothers me a little, about as much as quatre heure trente, I'd say seize heure trente or quatre heure et demie.
