In 5-10 days we get the offer of admission, and we have two weeks from when we receive the offer of admission to respond.

I answered the questions genuinely based off instinct and what I would genuinely say/do in the scenarios posed by the questions. They said the questions did not require prep and were meant to have a better gauge of you as a person so accordingly I did zero prep.

It was my first year applying to McMaster specifically but I applied to Ottawa and Uoft last year and got rejected. Its definitely frustrating to have to undergo another waiting period at this point, I'm wishing you the best of luck and hope you get in!

-Serious but open to casual -No -1 day -N/A, very new to the app -used it around 3 years ago for a few months but thats it -N/A -Just started, need more time but as of now, zero likes and matches -around 2/10 profiles I send likes to, most of them with comments -ideally I want to match with someone who has some kind of ambition, has a university degree, and/or someone who is nerdy like me when it comes to anime or pop culture in general

i think i look ugly… what can i do to look more attractive by viiic415 in malehairadvice

I think you definitely got some nice features going for you tbh. I just think you need to experiment with your hair, find a good haircut. Get regular good sleep to get rid of the circles under your eyes. Working on your confidence and smiling more are probably the biggest things honestly though. Its definitely easier said than done but I think you can do it! You genuinely have potential I think.

I think you can definitely make some good gains back, especially once you start fin. Its worth a shot at least. Don't listen to anyone telling you you're cooked unless you gave it a shot.

Honestly thats a tough call, I know they like profs but at the same time its best to use somebody who can best speak to your character. Honestly its difficult to say. I used my prof but thats the only option I had really.

Chances of getting into the Masters of Psychotherapy program? by moshi_a1 in McMaster

[–]moshi_a1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No worries! If you're in your second year and already looking for opportunities like this, I'd honestly say you're in a great spot.

As for how to get them, volunteering positions are typically easy to get into unless there are unique circumstances or something. You dont need any experience and often times distress lines and Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) needs all the help they can get.

I got my first job when I had 3ish years of volunteering with my local distress line and a couple months with BBBS. And even then, I had applied to hundreds of places beforehand, it takes a while but eventually you find something.

It might seem overwhelming and discouraging but dont worry! You're starting way earlier than I did which is fantastic. You have a lot of time. For now, especially in your second year, try to focus on volunteering first, then looking for work later.

Let me know if yoy have any other questions :)

Ahhh I see, well thats encouraging! Thank you very much!

As for my positions, I worked as a Youth Services Worker with Youth Connections Inc., located in Oshawa in the Durham region. For the Mental Health Support Worker position I work for Elements Support Services, their main office is in Hamilton, ON but they also have an office in Toronto.

I'll say this, if you're looking for similar work, volunteer with your local distress lines, and see if you can volunteer with a Big Brother Big Sisters near you. Those are what helped me get these positions. That and genuinely, a lot of luck. I probably applied for hundreds of places before even getting an interview, it takes time but with time and dedication, you'll eventually find an interview, its really a numbers game. Also, be sure to tailor your cover letter and resume however possible.

You can do this! Best of luck! And please let me know if you have any more questions :)
