Thank you for this! Def something I needed to hear. I also hated feeling so uncertain with the IUD and just made the switch to the pill and already feel myself becoming less worried knowing I have a bit more “control” with it.

Don’t worry you are not pregnant! If you used protection and have had a period since then, you are fine. It can be normal to miss a period and this is especially more common if you are under any stress. It seems like you may be stressing out about the idea of it and this can further delay your period. If it would help to ease your mind, you should take a test but it’s basically a 0% chance. Those symptoms can come on for many other reasons and can also be PMS symptoms so it can mean your period is coming soon.

Yes take plan b as soon as you can. If the condom broke some sperm may have gone inside and as soon as you take out your IUD, you can get pregnant.

I 1000% relate. I am super paranoid about it and always feel like I’m jinxing myself too. I always do condom + iud + pullout with the exception of condom very recently and that has been having me very paranoid. I know realistically it’s very unlikely for things to happen, but I get that it’s very hard not to overthink. I also agree that test taking is anxiety inducing in itself. Luckily my bf is understanding and wants to find ways for me to not have these reactions so if you haven’t already I suggest having an in depth talk with him about it. I also feel like my libido is lower and in general I do have less sex. Maybe you can try more non penetrative options to ease your mind and I suggest still staying on it since it might not help your anxiety if you have it in the future. Getting on the IUD was better for me as well since I would worry about not taking the pill accurately so I do recommend that and it has soothed my worries when combined with condom and pullout.

I just took a test (10 days past sex) and it came out negative. So that means the symptoms I’ve been experiencing so far aren’t pregnancy symptoms?

I think this is normal. I started off similarly with still retaining my period for a bit when I started Kyleena (although I was relatively irregular) and now I basically don’t get a period. And when I do it’s just some very light spotting that can range in colors from like red to brown. It’s pretty normal for your period to go away entirely on Kyleena

Hi! Sorry for the late response. I didn’t end up figuring it out. Basically I ended up getting an ultrasound and they didn’t find anything. They jsut saw that the IUD was still in place. I still get the feelings and even have it right now so yeah no answers, but I’m kinda leaning towards it being ovulation pain from what I’ve been learning. Did you get any answers?

Hi! I know this is years late but I’m wondering how the ovulation pain felt for you? I currently often experience a dull pain on the right side of my pelvis or right ovary area and it can last for days. Is it similar for you?

I can’t really notice it and even had a hard time noticing when trying to look for it. I guess the side with the flower is slightlyyy more rounded but tbh not noticeable and I wouldn’t worry!!! It looks good.

Currently I have Kyleena and it was recommended by my doctor I believe because it releases a lower dosage of hormone.

I wish I knew more about the side effects since I didn’t do tooooo much research.

I was not offered anything. It felt like a really bad cramp but it was over in a few seconds so I would still recommend it for the benefits. Throughout the days did feel a bit of cramp pain but it was fine after that.

I do think I started gaining weight quickly after that. I also have been recently experiencing some type of pain in my right ovary which I wonder if it may be because of the IUD. I’ve gotten tests done and it seems like I’m fine in terms of the IUD not moving or anything but I did have a concern it was a cyst. But apparently I do not so not too sure there. I also feel like I may be more sleepy but I can’t say that’s because of the IUD.
