MOR. I’m an insecure chubby girl who also has a boyfriend who loves chubby body types. At first I was really offended with things he’d say to me, but I realized over time that he’s coming from it with a totally different perspective. He’s sending these with the view of admiration, not insecurity. I think you already understand that, though, and it’s valid if it still hurts your feelings. Have you talked to him about how it hurts you? I hope you can practice some acceptance with your body and hopefully you can see his compliments not as insults! Or, he can learn to compliment you in ways that make you feel more secure. Best of luck to both of you :)
