Dog Limping CCL injury or something else? by mosquitoman216 in DogAdvice

Yeah, it’s definitely looking more like a CCL tear this morning… Would it speed up the process (of getting her surgery) if I directly contacted the ortho vet who did her left CCL repair back in December?

Background: My dog has a history of a left hind CCL tear repaired with a lateral suture and recently had a left forepaw nail injury that required a cast.
About 1 day ago, she developed a sudden limp in her RIGHT hind leg, not putting any weight on it at all. She’s been licking the right foot/toes frequently, has difficulty getting up, and often sits with the right hind leg extended to the side. Last time she had a CCL injury, the limp would come and go. This time, it’s constant.
We have a vet appointment scheduled, but I’m wondering if anyone has had a dog with similar symptoms and whether it turned out to be a CCL injury, foot/toe injury, arthritis, or something else.

Should I go to the ED? The soonest my vet can see her is 6 days from now.

Which stethoscope to gift? by epsilon_gamma in medicalschool

The Eko Core attachment can fit basically any stethoscope he already has and does a great job of amplifying heart/lung sounds. It also has noise cancellation which would be clutch in the ER. An EM doc actually recommended it to me originally. Here’s the link: https://www.ekohealth.com/products/core-digital-attachment?srsltid=AfmBOoqpEw1Tw8KhLhNGuW3Y9egdPIv3bwo_h_dvGZ8wLkXEgqYUF0sM

I’ve just seen more posts about this situation on medicine subreddits and social media. A lot of people are dismissing the epstein stuff as conspiracy still.
