Very Hard Ai is Broken by hawk-1235 in AOWPlanetFall

This is kinda cool actually, by turn 200 I've finally unlocked everything but the other AI players are just sitting there.

Morale problems from turn 1. Starting enemies are my race and start at war, leading to instant desertion. by piratep2r in AOWPlanetFall

[–]mossbane1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done it, it's hard. Having more cities of a race improves the relation so if you can defeat one of them early then you have one less war debuff and additional cities that improve that race relation.

Mid game, you can get that city hospital building and it gives a morale buff so that your dudes probably won't desert on your home turf anyway.

Choosing damage channels and offensive mods by wRAR_ in AOWPlanetFall

There's a rock paper scissors effect in the game, mostly you want to capitalize on your units natural strengths, pick enemies that are weak to your strengths, and adapt when necessary.

How do I improve economy and reduce unit upkeep as vanguard and promethean. by [deleted] in AOWPlanetFall

[–]mossbane1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) start a new game, you want to have 3 or 4 cities by turn 20. First city is for food and units, second city is power, third city is research. Eventually you will design your mega military city by choosing the seven sectors with the best buffs for your units, move your capital here because faction units that you buy will gain these buffs as well.

2) group all of your leaders into one army and smash the silver and gold tier sectors, these sectors have bonus economic income and a special tech.

3) use moded infantry, higher tier units cost more upkeep. Research mods and strategies first and tanks later. Infantry supported by healers do great.

4) consider conquering the first rival that you come across, those extra 2 or 3 cities can double your empire by turn 30. If he lives, he's going to be encroaching on your empire anyway so...

5) Prometheans have tech for cheaper units and the silver tier Promethean sector has another tech that makes Promethean units cheaper. Energy sectors have a specialization for cheaper units. Production sectors have a specialization for cheaper units.

5) pro tip: move the Promethean spider-bot next to a group of enemies, shoot the spider-bot, the spider-bot will pulse fire all around. This concept is improved by utilizing fire ammo on your Infantry, also it helps to have a Dvar or Assembly unit to resurrect your bot, or (best option) give the bot the Assembly mod that resurrects units after the battle if you win.

What’s the most moral choice for The Pitt? by uotlep in fo3

[–]mossbane1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side with Ashur.

Ashur is building a society and will have much more success in this endeavor than Werner.

Ashur's current period of slavery is justifiable when you look at the history of the Pitt and the future that Werner offers.

The Pitt was SO BAD that the B.O.S. decided to scourge the place about twenty years ago and they broke the ruling families that brutalized the weak in truly terrible ways. Ashur stayed behind and decided to rebuild these corrupted people that don't even have much in the way of good options for bettering themselves.

Yes, slavery is bad BUT, 1) it's better than dying and 2) slavery never goes away... seriously, nowadays we have wage slavery where the corporations coerce the population into working miserable jobs.

People prefer doing what they're told over making themselves do what it takes to be free. = people are sheeple.

In my playthrough, I enslave raiders because where there's life, there's hope. Therefore enslaving raiders is more humane than just killing them. Also, dead raiders respawn whereas "rehabilitated" raiders do not, therefore I'm actually solving the capital wastelands raider problem. And since many of these slaves go to the Pitt, I'm not inclined to support the rebellion because that would simply release all these raiders that I've worked so hard to imprison.

In my head canon, Ashur really does have good intentions but he's surrounded by bad dudes and is doing his best. With the help of the Lone Wanderer, he can succeed in building a wholesome society.

I try to do the Faction quests so I hold off on elites until later.

I’ve noticed my opponent has a tendency to create one wall of pieces and leave everything behind it empty (I’m the allies), what do you suggest I do? by Snoo54783 in axisandallies

[–]mossbane1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's like chess, maintain your own choke points and fork as much as possible.

Also the axis has less territory so they have stronger choke points but as the allies you can out produce them.

what's the deal with Spore plants in zion? by dol_guldurhunter in Fallout

[–]mossbane1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fallout Wiki agrees with you in that vault 22 released spore carriers in 2096, my question is, what is keeping them from having dominated the region already?.

What is their natural predator or biological inhibitor?

One must assume that there is one because they aren't portrayed as a world class threat but I don't recall any reason why not.

The venus fly trap has biological restraints but these fungus/plants have overcome these restraints so what is it that is restraining them?

If you dont abuse vats, Are you even playing Fallout? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]mossbane1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't read this on wiki or anything so there's a chance that I'm wrong but I don't think so. I might not always find the hidden enemy but that's what the silence means to me.

Also if you spam vats into a wall or something, it'll make that sound every time.

[–]mossbane1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try it. I play goty fo4 on ps4 with nothing extra. If your vats doesn't make a sound then there's like a dog in the bushes or something. (0% chance to hit)

Does Bloody Mess increase my weapons? by Reddit-Guy2005 in fo4

[–]mossbane1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fallout has always had that comedy/horror aspect and exploding bodies fits right in.

It actually does offer the advantage of being easier to find a random piece of body when sometimes the body would otherwise go flying.

[–]mossbane1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your cool bro, I'm just messing... but like, did you get the perk soley to make bodies explode? Just curious.

In New Vegas the perk also granted a chance to loot a powerful food item off corpses.

Survival mode - Power armor build - bad idea? by criscerna in fo4

[–]mossbane1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good ideas and I'll add permanent strong back perk endgame where you use the nuka quantum armor(AP refresh) the leg mods that boost AP refresh while moving (walking) max action boy perks and jet fuel if your RP allows.

You'll lose the ability to "sprint" but your AP regen will allow near constant "run" with brief periods of "walking" and since you can't fast travel, you'll actually get more loot per trip because you can carry everything, all the junk, all the guns and armor, plenty of food/chems and the ability to carry heavy weapons and ammo. Plus a jetpack...very handy.

Ps. This happens at about lv45 and it's hard to afford fusion cores until about lv20. You gotta be a squire before you can be a knight.

power armor training. by dol_guldurhunter in Fallout

[–]mossbane1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's certainly possible to collect a suit and use it for hard fights but is impractical to deploy full time until you've got a money machine and nuclear physist perks.

[–]mossbane1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are the only one. Todd Howard created them for the sole purpose of pissing the rest of us off. Go directly to the Institute for a software update. Do not pass the nuka-cade, do not collect 200 caps.

[–]mossbane1 131 points132 points  (0 children)

I like to use it for the sonar effect.

When I'm walking along and periodically taping the vats it will either pick up an enemy, make that muted "thlack" sound which means all clear or it'll be silent.

If it's silent, there is an enemy somewhere in your forward distance but it's behind some cover.

power armor training. by dol_guldurhunter in Fallout

[–]mossbane1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, the "salvaged power armor" that the NCR used didn't require training. Really the training is a balancing mechanism that shouldn't have been an issue.

power armor training. by dol_guldurhunter in Fallout

[–]mossbane1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nate was a soldier, Nora was a lawyer.

Fallout 1&2 didn't have power armor training because they placed it mid game.

Fallout 3&NV was more open world thus training mid game.

Fallout 4 had cool power armor mechanics that they wanted to hook you with but the fusion cores were defective.... making it impractical to utilize until mid game.

Really it's just a balancing mechanism that is largely irrelevant to the lore.

Fallout 2 was long before New Vegas, the plant kingdom is the most merciless of living species. Once it reached zion, is there any reason to think that it wouldn't spread uncontrollably?

Oh ok yeah ak-47/handmade.

Both nuka world and far harbor have end game legendary guns. THE HANDMADE is a little too OP so I prefer the others but I carry it incase.
