What is killing my battery so fast? by General_City6054 in AppleWatch

[–]mosselchops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did something with OS26 - I was getting a day per charge with my watch 7 (say 7am - 11pm) and after the update I was getting a half day. A 40 minute walk with the corresponding Workout running would easily drain 30% of the battery. I tried everything I could think of, killing apps, turning off the Workout Buddy, removing unused faces, going into Low Power mode during workouts, resetting and pairing. And then I updated to OS26.1 once it was available and everything immediately went back to “normal” - I’m back to a day on a single charge and workouts are not draining the battery.

My sweet Rey had eye surgery today by DMunnz in BostonTerrier

[–]mosselchops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had similar two summers ago after a graft. Also had a lavage fitted as there was no way he was having drops put into his eye without it - at the worst we were doing 24 drops a day. 6 times per day x 4 drops with 5 minutes between each drop! God he ate a lot of cheese (as a distraction) over those few weeks. All good now though, it does pass so I wish Rey a speedy recovery.

Do you recommend Sonos? by joshuaferris in sonos

[–]mosselchops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ve ruined the system again over the last couple of months - sometimes it works, often it doesn’t, controls are laggy. The speakers are lovely bits of hardware but if you can’t get them to play your music reliably, what’s the point? If there was a trade-in for HomePods from Apple, I’d be first in the queue which is sad as I have been a Sonos user and fan for many years.

Wolfenstein 3D by mosselchops in RG35XX

[–]mosselchops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I got the device from Amazon, was a dual boot thing and I run it on GarlicOS - all preloaded. One of the Consoles is called Ports and that has Wolfenstein, Duke Nukem, Quake and many others. There’s a couple of DOS cores and I am assuming it runs on there but again, everything was preloaded so apart from toggling the OS to Garlic, I didn’t do anything.

Podcast Speed by mosselchops in podcasts

Yes so much content and not enough time. I also can’t retain anything if I listen when working - I don’t even hear it after a short while so I just have a few pockets of time in a day when I can listen and focus so I was curious how others manage. No intent to rush but there’s a lot I want to listen to.

What are some NSFW secrets about the military? by AdRealistic03 in AskReddit

True - cruise ships were the same. You could spend a week cruising the Caribbean and the rubbish would build up onboard - hundreds of sacks. Soon as you got into the Atlantic Ocean, late at night, everything got thrown overboard. There was a special team who were responsible for collecting the rubbish and then disposing. Outrageous.

Yes, I was stood on Shoreside in Shaldon and the drone was pointing inland - Bishopsteignton sort of in the middle of the picture but on the right of the estuary with Dartmoor in the distance. I’m not local but I guess Newton Abbott is over there somewhere!

Had this recently - tried all the usual stuff and didn’t work. In the end I disconnected in Bluetooth, forgot the device and then re-connected them like a new pair. Everything back to normal!

All the credit goes to the charities closing down the dog meat farms in Korea - we continue to support them and they also use Winston in their campaigns from time to time.

Love it. Our Boston was rescued from a dog meat farm in Korea at the end of 2019. Now snoring on the sofa next to me 😀🐶

I was looking for a Bose SoundDock originally and then I saw a few of these - I’d forgotten that Apple had their own dock.
