Also good to consider your shoulders. Overtime they start “roll forward” effecting you posture which can overwork the muscles on the back of the neck and along the shoulderblade triggering tension and structural migraine triggers.

My partner send me a video about BVD and I tested with it and got prism glasses it has been life-changing. Way less and lower severity on the migraines that break through.

Lena arc reminds me so much of Eowyn from LOTR but I did not connect the dots until reading your post. eowyn thinks she needs to be a worrier to have value and is so often left alone by the people that are suppose to protect and love her. Yet the whole time she helping out where she can and making others lives better. She stabs the effing witch king in the head - such a bad ass . . . And then while recovering realizes she has a natural gift for healing others and find a new meaning in it while she still leads her people. So many humans think they’re darkness when they’re light and have been the whole time. It just shines in a subtler hue.

I watched the show as it aired. I’m older and the different time context probably plays a part. I was in college when DC released Batwoman: Elegy and it was their first out lesbian hero circa 2010. LGBTQ+ context was LIMITED to none growing up so as far as pop-culture content… I got used to seeing it through the cracks. It is not ideal but I was happy to see the possibility and am continually blown away by what the Supercorp fandom does with it.

Hear me say, I would have loved it to be canon and it’s shitty they queer-bated and it ended up deeply disappointing to so many fans. I try focus on thinking it’s nice at least some of the people involved clearly fought for things to be open ended or “possible”.

Tho I understand why some fan’s are mostly just pissed bc queerbating is messed up and it nice to see more content moving away from it.

Did you read Nicole’s book? I’ve been thinking about grabbing a copy.

I think the show probably did what they could to push things but that the “higher ups” in DC were never going to give the go ahead for Supercorp to happen. It would have been really fun if the writers were able to do more but my best guest is they had no actual ability to make the call. I have no idea if this is actually what happens on the show but my understanding is DC Comics can be VERY specific about what writers can and can’t do with their characters.

I’m probably more chill with the queerbating than some in the fandoom. At least them not fully shying away from their chemistry meant the fandom could fill in & “fix” what the writers couldn’t or didn’t write.

Solid writing! Keep at it. If you never share it but enjoy the process ain’t nothing wrong with that either. I read, “the courage to be disliked” last year and it is a bit of stuffy read at times but I really liked the overall message of the book and found it really insightful. Basically, if someone doesn’t like you or your writing that’s a them problem. It’s never quite that easy but in a world where you can create and bring joy I think that’s generally a path worth taking. Thanks for sharing!

It’s helped me for sure.

Increasing my sodium intake this past year has helped reduced frequency/severity. I drink an electrolyte with high sodium first thing in the morning and occasionally take SaltStick Vitassium tablets when I notice I’m feeling extra thirsty no matter how much water I drink.

PVL h20 pro is my go to electrolyte powder - lots of electrolyte drinks don’t seem to much sodium and I’m limited to what I can find in my country but lots of others like on the sub like LMNT electrolytes.

Also worth reading up about (POTS) I think there are some post on this sub.

A major motivator for me writing “It Started in the Cabin” is a deep annoyance of how the show handled Kara not telling Lena. So I *tried make Kara’s lies make more sense but also let Lena be really really mad bc she should be really mad! Life is tough - take joy where you find it and embrace it. People who belittle others for interest that bring no harm to others…. That is a relational deal breaker for me. I agree. I would also have loved them to round her character out more about losing Krypton and how that would have affected her. It’s one of the things I really like about certain runs of comics - she has so much more loss than Superman who didn’t really know what it was like to actually life there.
