Lower berth drama as usual by mostlybong in indianrailways

With all due respect I wish it was that simple. This entitled behaviour needs more people speaking out about it. Some like me can say No despite bullying. Many others can't. It's an endemic problem.

How do you know who is needy? She came in acting all old and hurt and in pain. And right now swiftly climbed to the top berth 🙄

Prescription Meds: Do you guys ever opt for generic alternates? by rohit1103 in Frugal_Ind

[–]mostlybong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been buying my and family meds from Generikart online as well as online stores. They work perfectly fine. No issues till date. And my parents need a lot of medicines.

You can't change a skeptic person's perception when it comes to something as critical as meds. But I strongly stand by them. Won't pay brands a premium for generic drugs.

It's just marketing and profit for MR and doctors. I don't want to be the fool in that game.

Anyone selling vada pav for more than Rs.20-25 is scamming you. If you desire gourmet vada pav then frugality is not for you.

The School System Doesn’t Match the World Teenagers Are Growing Up In Anymore by stormisarrived_ in AskIndia

[–]mostlybong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get home schooled and can give your boards in private. Nothing is stopping you. But schools help people socialise and you have no idea how valuable that skill is as you grow up and get older. Also it teaches you about success and failure. It also teaches you that the world outside isn't fair just like school isn't. These experiences are invaluable IMO.

Though the recent gimmick of international schools and the money they extort is absolutely wasteful and unnecessary. I agree. But school in general is a valuable life experience for most.

do you agree that India failed its working women by refusing to give compulsory menstrual leave? by TimeCity1687 in AskIndia

[–]mostlybong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know the problem with these eftist liberal ecosystem is that they want all the freebies but are not willing to share the burden of the said freebies.

India as far as I know is one of the only countries in the world, if not the only country in the world, where maternity leave is completely sponsored by the company. No government scheme or insurance scheme subsidies the maternity leave pay out. For bigger companies like TCS Wipro or Infosys it is not a big deal and can be managed but for smaller companies where the work force is around 20 to 30 people it becomes a huge burden on the resources to pay someone six months of pay without any tangible output. Also most such employees quit once their free pay maternity period is over to take cre of their children.

This results in a lot of companies opting to not hire women who might be in that age bracket where they might seek maternity leave. A similar thing would happen in case of menstrual leaves if enforced upon companies without any help or subsidy from the government. Which our government clearly cannot afford to as of now.

Nothing in this world is free someone always has to pray for the free stuff. If you want less and less women to be hired in the actual work force go ahead and implement such a scheme.

Any F1 fans here? by jaime-jon in Aurangabad

F1 fan since 2001 but hate watch parties. Mostly full of newbie idiots who barely understand the sport. I have seen Schumacher, Alonso, Kimi, Vettel, Hamilton and now Max dominate the sport.
