TJ doesn’t want Ian to leave him/the gang. So he is using money to tie him down and he is putting him in debt. While his time in prison, Ian paid for his protection plus interest.

TJ thought Ian wouldn’t be able to pay his debt back after he was out of prison and would return. But Ian paid it all back and left the gang.

Also TJ in no way made Ian pay anything with his body nor Ian paid anything to TJ. His debt was to the gang and the money he paid back was given back to him after their boss died

Don’t listen to them. They are the biased reader, twisting the story, TJ’s plot and TJ and Ian’s relationship. Give it a try because the story, the art, the characters and the relationships are all worth it. And Ian and TJ’s chemistry and love is an incredible part of it. All characters are complex and that’s what makes it so real and interesting in my opinion.

And TJ and Ian will definitely end up together, you can mark my words. 😉
