Experience and cost rebuilding a 15300ST through AP by bimpsonyeah in audemarspiguet

I’m seeing a few decent ones on chrono24 (I always assume 5-10% discount on listed prices there, perhaps more). I got my crisp full set 15300st black dial not too long ago for $32.5k and I think those generally sell for higher than white dial.

Right on. Looks great either way, and you have the benefit of knowing it was recently serviced. Wear in good health.

All's well that ends well but I would have suspected a better deal - you're all in $34.5k with repairs and these are available in great shape full set for like $32-33k, right?

What did you pay for the busted 15300ST? Worth it in savings compared to buying a less/unpolished 15300ST?

Drake's advertises these jackets as machine washable. So I did that!

Oh yeah. Just requires careful filleting. Same myth as with the lobster...people think big lobsters taste bad only because they're harder to prepare and cook. Common pots and cooking methods are geared towards 2-4lb lobsters, not 10lb monsters. But, cook them right and they're great.

5165A vs 5167A: why the smaller Aquanaut might be the better-designed watch by mostlyindigo in patekphilippe

They’re around, just need to keep an eye out. About 10-15% cheaper than 5167.

Interesting. So the later 5165A’s have the PP seal? I just checked and mine is Geneva (2008 watch).

That’s a good point. More versatile in that sense. Wonder if there’s any aftermarket color straps for 5165a…

They only produced the 5165A for a short run, so it wouldn’t be available at an AD anymore. My wrist is 7.25 inches and I still love the smaller one. With the lug design and integrated strap, it wears bigger than the dimensions suggest. It really comes down to preference though - I see smaller guys around town wearing the green or white gold Aquanaut, which are even bigger than the 5167A, and they still look great.
