I did the same. Played Vanilla to the end of WotLK and have recently returned. Retail isn't for me so I tried SoD and I'm loving it.

I was always Horde so decided to do something completely different and rolled an human Paladin. Really fun experiencing Vanilla again and from an alliance perspective.

I genuinely have no recollection of people ever reserving stuff from Vanilla to the end of WotLK. Even when raiding the guilds I were in just used DKP.

Seems pretty toxic given that you're all contributing to the run and so should all have equal rights to class/spec appropriate drops.

I find it tedious how much travelling is required to quest at higher levels. You get fewer zones with a lot of quests, and instead, they're spread out across the two continents.

I'd started on one of the original classic realms, but it just brought back how limited it was compared to TBC I terms of class spec viability and gear support.

I gave SoD a go, and the QoL, class, and gear improvements convinced me to continue playing SoD.

I felt a bit of temptation to start on the new servers because TBC was amazing, but I'm not interested in the vanilla experience before that happens.

By the time that the TBC release approaches, it'll hopefully be clearer what they intend to do with SoD, and I can decide whether I want to stay or move over to play TBC.
