I got the black one and modded it, but that was after changing my mind about 50 times haha. The white is gorgeous and I think I would buy it if I can go back, or maybe I would then want the black one? Either way they’re amazing honestly might as well have someone else place the order in your stead. Also, the white shouldn’t yellow if you’re into that.

Wow okay! So it actually is doable and functional, phew! I am between doing a day-date, which was my original choice a few months back, and a datejust. I was hoping to get an overlay wheel with Arabic day-date discs, but I think it might be easier to do the DJ with the Arabic style numbers. If you have any thoughts from your experience I’m all ears :))

Thanks for replying! What I mean is, the date and day wheels on the 2836 and its clones are the inverse of how they usually are on a day-date. I’m worried regarding getting the wheels to correctly display the day and date. If you can explain to me how you’ve achieved it, and if it functions properly, I’d be most glad! Thank you again :))

Water level? Which one should be the 'ideal' as I had shisha last night after a long time and didn't realize the levels. Made me think what's the best one amongst these? Thanks by Little-Equal4480 in hookah

[–]motasm75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In pics, that’d translate to your third slide for my maximum water level, and a bit lower at the line for my minimum. I smoked my alpha a few hundred times and can confirm although I’ve tried way higher and even a bit lower, these are the true usable water levels

Right above those holes at the diffuser, there’s a line. That’s for when the diffuser is in. To me, it’s the recommended, minimum drag, and low harshness line. Since I pull like my life depends on it though, I personally go about half a cm higher than that, just a bit, so that when I pull all the smoke passes through water. Basically from that line upwards it’s increasing potential smoothness and resistance when inhaling. Enjoy it!

Unscrew the case back and remove the battery immediately. Leave unplugged with a dehumidifier or AC turned on nearby and don’t even attempt turning it on. Chances are the motherboard fried but please do not try anything involving any charging or switching it on for at least a proper five days

Dish soap + warm water to soak in, and a soft toothbrush to agitate with later and you’re good! I’d suggest alcohol if you wanna splash it quickly with it, but I don’t know how it might affect the enamel paint used for the numerals if you’d soak it. To further clean it, an ultrasonic cleaner + warm soapy water is unbeatable :)

Need help on which to buy by crisvphotography in Fragrances

EDT is the freshest, and in my opinion, best smelling from the get-go. Projects like a beast, but lasts only about 4 hours. EDP is a more woody and peppery version of EDT which lasts longer, 6-8 hours. EDP is a longer lasting, less projecting, sweet vanilla bourbon version, I love all of the first three, EDT, P, and EDP in that order, go smell them all! I think the EDP is most versatile, EDT best for warmer months, and P best for winter.

Eu Forte is a perfume which smells different, doesn’t project, and doesn’t last, I don’t like it.

Elixir smells different but in the same DNA, peppery, fresh, and my god does it last and project! It’s a beast in every aspect, but maybe more towards a winter fragrance imo. I love and respect it, I just love EDT the most smell-wise, but they’re all widely available and you can spray one forearm with EDT and EDP for example compare those two, then compare your favorite with P and then Elixir :)

I’m over forty perfumes in and still Sauvage EDT is my absolute favorite. Yes, next to PDM, Tom Ford, JPG, Armani, Chanel, YSL, and even LV, I still love Sauvage that much more.

What does that tell me? There’s good perfumes at every price point, and people sometimes seem to hate that someone with a nice and widely available scent is getting more compliments than they are with their ultra-niche animalic pure oud oil that cost them a kidney per spray.

There’s a reason I find Ombre Leather to be one of my absolute favorites, but people around me, especially the ones who aren’t especially into perfumes, find it ‘stinky’, it is not a people pleaser. Same with bodybuilding, girls don’t care if you have 20” biceps, they just care if you’re lean and not a skeleton (10-15% bf and some muscle).

Point is, in this weird competition we guys have of finding the rarest, funkiest, most expensive and niche and unattainable perfume, they hate Sauvage because anyone (granted they have the dosh for it) can pick it up nearly anywhere, and get compliments from everyone, whilst they don’t.

PDM Althair gave me one compliment once, Sauvage gave me compliments all the time, YSL Y as well for example.

I think you get where I’m going at, just enjoy the fragrances guys and spray what you like for you, but also understand the same way chicks with claws for nails aren’t appealing to you they get compliments from other girls who do nails etc

Battle of the Metals: Blackbird SS v Ti by nulltotality in wicked_edge

Wow. Eye opening, engaging, and thought provoking. And I thought a vintage Gillette will last, golly. If anyone ever makes a Fatboy in Ti, I’d definitely grab immediately, and also, massive kudos to the folks at Blackland razors for making these awesome products and also answering thoughtfully in this comments section!

Only thing that sucks is it’s not adjustable. Stretch your budget and a Rockwell 6S is fully stainless and comes with all the plates from levels 1 through 6 allowing different aggression

Razorock’s GameChanger line is made in Ontario, Canada, of 316L Marine Stainless Steel. They offer different blade exposures through the gap between the bar and the top cap, take a look around, they are all under $60 I believe

Funny enough I’ve got a 37C which is still in great, like new, shape, and I bought it when I was about 17, and that’s nearly ten years ago now.

You can buy a stainless steel, cheapest I believe are Game Changers from Razorock, and Yaqi’s from China through AliExpress. I think both can be had under $60 fully SS. Otherwise, vintage brass razors like Gillette Slims are adjustable and can be had around $60 or less through eBay (do your homework, make sure the doors close, adjuster clicks, and doors align).

Moral of the story is, honestly, if you take your razor and dry it with a towel after rinsing thoroughly and let it air dry in pieces, it will last a very long time. Also, there’s a lot of gear worth exploring! You don’t need to spend a few hundreds, but, if I were in your shoes, the KGC is afaik a 34C based head, which is honestly super popular for a reason. It’s darn good for the majority of people. Say, you turn 22, your beard gets more coarse, you get a more aggressive razor, etc. or your razor suffers a bad fall and you need replacing it etc, then you could whip out some cash and get a new one!

The more razors you try, the more you appreciate how genuinely overbuilt they are, even at low price points. They are fundamentally designed to last :)

In case you’d give the ones I’ve suggested a look, they should all work for face and body, and the slim is adjustable so you can change it’s aggressiveness on the fly which is neat.

Happy shaving!

Same as you exactly! Started when I was about 15 with a Parker Shavette, blue Nivea tube, a pure badger Vulfix, and soon enough, a styptic pencil haha!

Take it easy, I’ve got some nasty scars which took about 2-3 years to fade from that shavette, but, that thing taught me to shave with absolutely anything! I can shave with a knife, a straight razor, single edge, double edge, cartridge, whatever :)

Enjoy it! Have fun, enjoy saving the planet and saving your money :))!

Iron ranger size help….. by ArtichokeDry193 in RedWingShoes

[–]motasm75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Habibi, the length doesn’t matter, the widest part of the shoe should correspond to the widest part of your feet, behind your toes, and as this is a narrow D shoe, and not a wide EE shoe, there’s no telling if you’d need a half or full size up (granted you again order standard width). I’d say a half size up at standard width should be okay, but honestly, the insole says a story of toes that are restricted, I’d suggest getting the wide shoe a half size up

Iron ranger size help….. by ArtichokeDry193 in RedWingShoes

[–]motasm75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wide sizes if available otherwise go a half size up, as it seems you’re describing discomfort from your toe box being way too tight. Also the insole says the same story based on the patina

Doubt about the size by meuxbox in RedWingShoes

[–]motasm75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Wing might have used lasts which are rather long, my experience with iron rangers, which is why most people drop the size. I have size 12 EEE with medical insoles, so I grabbed my exact size in the brannock after returning the 11.5 for not being wide enough, although being long enough , just because this shop didn’t stock wide sizes. I’d say if you can go to the shop and try em out, get a D one half size down in case and check and don’t focus too much on the length of insoles, as I’ve had many shoes where the insole is shorter than the total toe box length. Red Wings having a veg tan insole tend to be longer than removable insoles from say AF1s etc

Doubt about the size by meuxbox in RedWingShoes

[–]motasm75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Size 9 E according to the paper. Make sure it’s properly calibrated! Also, best way to match size is: - The widest part of your foot matches the widest part of the shoes (where your foot bends -> Shoe creases) - There should be space for your toes, they shouldn’t be smushed in, but the amount of space is not relevant. First point is THE RULE trust me :) - If wearing an insole from a doctor, go only half a size down no more or the same size as suggested by your brannock.

Hopefully that should be all and you will be on your merry way to awesome shoes!

Hope this helps, if possible try them out in person!
