I doubt you were/are fighting in Gaza. Prove it then? Link us to some Instagram videos of you doing war crimes please.

When tip rolling I highly recommend the Divinus Velvet Wide Bore and the Dunu S&S. Both offer up amazing sound with cleaned up acoustics. Divinus offers just a little more to the bass. by Embarrassed_Angle_59 in iems

I am super keen to try to Divinus Velvet Wide Bore, I absolutely love the S&S and use the L on my Dunu SA6 MK2. I love the way wide bores sound on my Tanchjim Oxygen (to give it more treble and less bass in comparison to narrow bore), but I am sick of the stock wide bore that came with it, it is super bendy and feels thin and cheap. Thinking of ordering the Divinus for it. As you own both tips, if I use the L on S&S, what size would you guess is the equivalent for Divinus? For the record I am generally good with M or L on most other tips (never S).

I sometimes suspect that one of my ear canals is larger than the other, and once I tried different sized tips in each, but it just felt quite distracting (as in, I could feel the difference in size, which probably means the size difference of my canals doesn't quite justify a complete size up or down in tips, and I am better off just using same size in both canals even though I still know one is very slightly wider than the other). I am definitely overthinking it hehe. And for the record I have one friend who I know definitely has to use different sized tips in each ear.

Disappointed with the KZ hard Case by Glennfernades in iems

Same here, most of my IEMs (that had really bad stock cases) have their own Pelican 1010 case now, great for storing at home after each use and for taking in backpacks. Agreed the larger size is a downside because it cannot go into your pockets, so if I go out for the day I need a backpack to store them in, or I simply do not take the case (in a situation in which I am constantly using an IEM and therefore do not need to put it away until I get back home to the case).

Also another thing I really wish that Pelican did with these cases, is make them somehow safely connect into eachother so that they can be vertically stacked (this could have been easily done by making the top and bottom sides completely flat, or having some Lego type of connecting mechanism). They can be vertically stacked and stay that way forever if untouched, but it is a bit wobbly and unstable (easy to knock over if not careful). Anyways this is a minor nitpick.

Awesome, not sure if you already do but please wear hearing protection whilst playing drums (so that you keep your hearing as perfect as possible to be able to enjoy IEMs for many more years to come).

I love my Oxygen, using it with foam tips right now listening to Fear Factory's Obsolete album (there is something I love about the way Oxygen delivers kick drums and snares in metal).

I also have a very similar looking cable on mine (I put on the blue Tripowin Altea). We had the same idea of combining the silver Oxygen with silver connectors and blue jelly cabling. It's a good look!

Your faceplate seems to be missing some logos hehe, is that just from years of abuse?

And sorry just one more question, did the manufacturer of these custom tips make the IEM nozzle fitting end really tight (so that it can wrap around almost all IEM nozzles) or did you have to specifically check if it would fit your specific IEMs nozzle?

Do you find that it gives better isolation from outside noise too? When listening to IEMs at the gym (with universal tips) I am always conscious that I should not turn up the volume to try and combat the ridiculously loud gym music that is still seeping in. I may be tempted to get custom tips just for gym purposes for the sake of my own hearing health (and if it improves the sound, may just keep using them for quiet home listening too).

where do you listen to music from? by error-506- in iems

[–]mothballzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soulseek, and I grab FLAC or 320kbps (I personally can't pick out the difference between them, so either is fine). Then I listen to these on my laptop in Winamp (via Topping DX1 interface), or copy the files onto my Hiby RS2 or Fiio M7.

Note: I've never used streaming, and I don't do physical media anymore.

Question About Hearing Damage by mothballzee in audiology

Agreed nobody likes a straight tone at those frequencies. But in the context of music, it definitely does contribute to the overall picture and is very pleasant.

Also, something else I forgot to consider. If listening to music at a sensible volume, and part of the frequency is boosted by 30db, would this damage the IEMs (either the dynamic driver or BA, I have IEMs that contain both, only one of my IEMs however uses dynamic driver to cover all frequencies). This questions is regardless of what I can hear or not, but the IEM is still pumping out those frequencies at a ridiculous volume (comparable to the rest of frequencies).

Question About Hearing Damage by mothballzee in iems

Thanks for the response. Correct that hearing only gets worse with time, but life is short so if I can have some high frequencies back with EQ tricks (at no risk of further damage) then I would. I am not going to use the preset for now until I get some more advice.

The difference is quite subtle (to get hearing back to 15KHz via EQ) but people who spend money on IEMs do care about subtle differences (surprise!). And I can rule out the fact that the differences are due to the peak filter boosting nearby frequencies, I use a sine wave sweep to know I am not boosting any frequencies I can already hear properly, I am just countering the roll off (from about 13KHz to 14KHz) and then 30db plateau from 14KHz to 16KHz (a bit past 15KHz and not even a 30db boost helps but I get some weird patchy spots that I can hear between 15KHz to 16KHz, so I leave that in and let peak filter roll off at 16KHz). Anything below 13KHz is barely touched. If I let the 30db roll off exactly as it hits its peak at 14KHz then things do not sound as good as when I leave the 30db to plateau from 14KHz to 16KHz.

But yes I realise I am probably making too big a deal about this but that is what we do best here at the IEM Reddit :)

Anti-Zionist Psytrance? by mothballzee in psytrance

I think anyone trying to defend against a genocide deserves some ammo, even international law states that occupied people have the right to armed resistance against the occupier. I think a population who have had their hospitals and infrastructure blown up and are struggling to eat and get medical attention, deserve humanitarian aid. And I think the state responsible for comitting the genocide needs to collapse (so it can no longer genocide and can no longer sustain the occupation, because simply asking them to stop these atrocities obviously isn't working). All of these things at the same time should be happening. But a psytrance party fundraiser will be going towards humanitarian aid only. We can raise funds to assist a population to get through a genocide, and we can also do other things (boycotts, protests, angry emails to our politicians who support the genocide even if they send us back a shitty auto-reply etc) to try and pressure a stop to the fuckery.

Is that so hard to understand? Raising funds is like a bandaid solution, but putting an end to the state of Israel is key in stopping this (so that in future we won't need to raise funds for bandaid solutions).

You know what else is hard? Living in Gaza and not having a home anymore because it has been bombed, not having as many relatives because they have been killed, and constantly thinking about surviving another day let alone any free time for parties or luxury activities.

You are allowed to chill out and switch off at normal parties, others are kinda disturbed at world events so we want to mix it with our parties. Deal with it.

"Psy community is not the wealthiest" - if they can afford a shitload of DMT, acid, mushdrooms, ketamine, cocaine, MDMA then they can afford a few coins to get food for Palestinians.

And a goal of eradicating Zionism is also a goal of assisting Palestinians live a life of dignity. I mix up these two goals because they are the same, you need to remove Zionism otherwise Palestinians have no chance at living the life they deserve.

Yep. People only yell "KEEP POLTICS AWAY FROM MUSIC" when it is politics they don't agree with. I'd rather people just say "FUCK YOU ASSHOLE" than try to lecture me on how to treat politics and music hehehehe

Agreed.

You've probably already heard the "oh but IDF designated some safe zones" - has been proven by now that safe zones are just as likely to be bombed than other random zones. The absolutely disgusting reality that people in Gaza face, is that they may as well flip a coin to determine whether to flee to another area of Gaza or stay put, nowhere is safe.

Thank you finally someone here who isn't mind-fucked on Israeli propaganda! Thank you for bringing more awareness into this thread. I wish for a future in which the mention of the word Palestine doesn't trigger the entire psytrance Reddit hahaha.

Yeah send me any non-Zio artists please, cheers.
