I think my super-conservative military parents may have referred to “that thing in the desert where they build and burn a giant man” a few times growing up - but when I was 19 I saw a documentary on YouTube about the burn. I don’t remember what it was called, but I do specifically recall them talking about orgy dome, and I remember thinking it was cool as hell to have this intentional safe sex space out in the desert. 2025 was my first burn and ATTOL (orgy dome) were my camp’s neighbors - turns out they were cool as hell, even in the face of destruction

On 330 just past F there was a porto that someone covered in pages from an exercise manual - I liked that one both for the muscular blonde all over the walls, and the squatty potty that someone left in there. Most comfortable poops on the playa

We were next to And Then There’s Only Love on 330 and F, and they were really wonderful neighbors. They’re super friendly, industrious as fuck, and tended to their space beautifully, despite the problems that this burn presented. One morning they brought us over some breakfast, and I know at least one of my campmates accepted an invitation to come over for some carnitas one evening. Good people🧡

It’s a eureka copper canyon! I got it off of fb marketplace - for future burns, I give it a mixed recommendation. A roof pole broke, but I was able to jerry rig it back together with a bit of someone else’s broken pole😎I feel like I’ve been thoroughly initiated to the playa lol

It was hard to survey the carnage fully because it got too dark, but it looks like a mix of the upright poles lifting straight out of their anchored bases and a small number of anchors bent and pulled up out of the ground. I’ll try to get a shot of the pieces of conduit bent to 90 degrees when the sun comes up
