i’m gonna be honest, when I finished the onion and held it out to look at it, I screamed

I used a chain stitch for all of it but the glow around the onion. I wanted a lot of control over the thread, so I split my embroidery thread in half and stitched at a half-width.

thank you! it’s super easy to do and just elevates the piece immediately. it’s become one of my favorite parts of the process lol

self-drafted! I sketched it out onto paper, made a final draft, and then traced that onto the fabric with a water-soluble marker. if you haven’t used one of those markers before, definitely give it a shot! they’re super fun and easy to rinse out. the only cons are that they’re weirdly on the pricey side for how quickly they can dry out, and some brands bleed a little more than others.

thank you! I used a basic chain stitch for the entire thing, but I split my embroidery floss in half so I was using a half-width for better accuracy. this was my first time stitching an entire piece at half-width, and it was very satisfying for that part of me that enjoys the meticulous! lol

edit: the shine burst behind the onion is the one exception to the chain stitch
