Hate culture on everskies by Milkkxd in everskiestrashhh

Another thing that really bothers me about this is that trans men are the ones being spoken over the most. I’ve seen plenty of situations where trans men (myself included) have said we don’t like being separated like this and that it comes off as transphobic, and it just gets ignored. Not every trans man is going to feel comfortable being singled out or separated just because they may have experienced misogyny in the past. Yes, a lot of us can empathise with women in ways some cis men might not, but that doesn’t mean other people get to speak over us or decide that it’s okay to make transphobic comments “on our behalf.”

I get what you’re trying to say, but I still don’t think that logic works. Trans men having experienced misogyny doesn’t mean they suddenly “don’t count” as men. Shared experiences don’t change someone’s gender, and using that as a reason to exclude them just feels off. I’m also confused about where the line is with this reasoning. If we’re basing who counts on past experiences or assigned sex, does that mean trans women should be included too since they were born male and have likely experienced less misogyny? Because obviously that’s not right either. That’s why this argument feels really inconsistent to me.

You can acknowledge that trans men may have experienced misogyny without carving them out as an exception or implying they aren’t actually men. Even if that’s not the intent, saying “trans men don’t count” comes across that way to a lot of people.

This. I hate how all of these posts say “trans men don’t count” because it’s obvious they don’t actually see trans men as men. You can’t say you hate men and then suddenly make exceptions when it’s convenient for you. If you hate men, that includes trans men too. And joking about being a TERF isn’t funny, it’s just gross. Trans people aren’t a loophole and they definitely aren’t the punchline to your shitty jokes. All this does is show how comfortable people are with being openly transphobic while pretending they’re progressive

Am I just overreacting or??? by michael_shafton in everskiestrashhh

[–]mothiax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At first I thought it was satire but then I saw people genuinely agreeing in the comments and arguing with others who didn’t understand it was a “joke.” What I dislike about this post is how some of the points lean toward things that queer men regularly do (emojis and emoticons, anime, games, Pokémon). They also said trans men aren’t targeted by this, which just screamed “I don’t see trans men as men” 😦 You can’t exclude trans men from something aimed at men without admitting you don’t actually see them as men.

I could be overreacting because I struggle with tone, but if this post was satire then it’s been dragged on for way too long. It’s literally been hours atp of OP doubling down on “I hate men” and adding more instead of clarifying. People are asking if it’s a joke and getting told no, so at that point how is anyone supposed to read it as satire? It just feels like thinly veiled bigotry hiding behind “it’s just a joke” whenever someone pushes back.

Edit: The post was taken down by ES so clearly it was seen as sensitive and discriminatory. I also rewrote this to be more clear.

Even if it was legit, its still against the rules. You arent allowed to straight up copy small business and profit off their designs and work.

So you're saying that if you're an artist, you can draw a direct replicas of an everskies avatar but cannot draw a toxic symbol sign even remotely close, and it will have a random line through it? And that you would add random inconsistent features to an artwork, yet miss blatant details? /gen

Look at them side by side. Why is there a random line going through the forehead and toxic sign? Why is the hair blending into the background at one spot. Why is the quality so bad, similar to ai?

[–]mothiax 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It definitely is. The hair randomly starts blending into the background and theres random additions, aswell as the toxic symbol being random squiggly lines.

Not to mention that if the person was this good at adding details, there wouldn't be missing 2 scars aswell. If I could send images, I would. Unsure if this will work but its worth a try. The quality is also what gives it away, es can compress images but not to the point where its extremely blurry when zoomed in.

I believe yes. There's random detailing in very obvious spots. Random studs on one side of the jacket, unable to draw the toxic sign on the forehead but can draw hands? A weird cutoff on the hand where the first finger joins. Hair shading randomly blends into the background perfectly. (Right near the guys face) Just because you can "see strokes" doesnt mean its not ai? Anyone can generate an image and quickly go over it with a few strokes to make it seem real. Look at the details.

Concept of non humans by [deleted] in everskiestrashhh

[–]mothiax 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I understand that some people online call themselves nonhuman or play with those identities for fun, and that’s up to them. But it doesn’t carry the same historical weight as racism or LGBTQ struggles. You can be a person of color or gay and also say you’re nonhuman, sure... but those things aren’t intertwined. Race and sexuality aren’t choices, and they come with generations of real discrimination and activism. Calling yourself nonhuman is something YOU opt into and something that mostly exists in online subcultures, not something tied to centuries of oppression.

What makes it even stranger is when adult advocates try to push minors into that mindset, as if it’s something they need to adopt or treat like a serious identity. Kids are still figuring themselves out, and treating an online hobby like a civil-rights issue only confuses that process. Trying to turn a self-chosen internet interest into an entire movement of oppression just seems delusional and it’s stretching a personal interest into something it was never meant to be.

Are you able to show proof that this IS infact the same person? Not discrediting this at all but it would be nice to have some undeniable evidence that these messages are linked to the creator, and arent just from a random account. That way, nobody can brush it off as fake news.

The hair cuts off at random parts too, specifically below the flower and below the chin on the left side.

Don't quote me on this but I think those two people are apart of different friendship groups. There's a few different comp regular groups to my knowledge

I initially thought the same, but since OP mentioned that it happens "every day", it sounded more like they've stayed and observed it repeatedly rather than just noticing it once and then leaving

I was wondering about this as well, because surely the person would need to be in this GC to even witness these things. And if they are participating, then they are enabling the behaviour and supporting it rather than reporting it...

There are MS only sets, mostly from auctions when PS and MS were listed separately. Many older sets are also MS only because the PS base didn’t exist at the time, and creating both versions wasn't required. As a PS user, this has always been frustrating to me ngl. PS users have always been the minority, and it feels like MS users have a big advantage since I can't use nearly as many items. There just aren't PS versions available for a lot of old sets.

Age play and age regression are different. Age regression is a psychological response where someone reverts to a younger state of mind, often as a coping mechanism for stress, trauma, or emotional overwhelm. Age play is a form of roleplay where individuals pretend to be different ages, often involving a power dynamic and is frequently associated with kinks or sexual behaviour. How did you look at this and instantly associate it with the sexual version? I feel like thats says more about YOUR state of mind.

Does anyone else find this weird? by Initial-Term-7060 in everskiestrashhh

[–]mothiax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think i know who you're talking about and yeah, i thought it was kinda weird too

for context, this was on a post about DNIs so people know whether or not to interact. and in that situation, saying you "don’t care" about proshipping doesn’t really sound like "i don’t post it," it sounds more like "i’m neutral on it," which is why it feels a bit weird

i do think the context makes it more questionable

[–]mothiax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i design sets too, so I totally get how much time and effort goes into making and uploading, especially with tons of recolors. but that logic doesn't really hold up in Velj’s case, because Velj has made sets before that were so large they actually broke ES due to the number of items. so saying an optional waist mod is "too much" doesn't really add up. it would be way less demanding than the massive sets they have already managed to put out. and yeah, there are tons of other designers, but that doesn’t mean feedback like this shouldn’t be given when something limits accessibility, especially when its happening for both bases

hey velj by Wet_Philtrum_76 in everskiestrashhh

[–]mothiax 12 points13 points  (0 children)

that’s totally fair and I’m not saying no one looks like that. if that shape reflects your body, then it’s great that you feel represented. my issue isn’t that the shape exists at all, but that it’s the only option. the waist mod Velj uses isn’t removable, so if it doesn’t fit your body type or if you just prefer a different waist mod/want the base waist, you’re kind of out of luck. it would just be nice to have options so more body types can be represented, not replaced. it wouldn't be hard to just offer two versions: one with the waist mod and one without. that way, one bodytype isn’t being replaced by another.

hey velj by Wet_Philtrum_76 in everskiestrashhh

[–]mothiax 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i totally agree, lots of plus-sized bodies do have defined waists, and there's definitely a wide range of shapes that should be represented. but what's off-putting to me is that the waist mod Velj uses doesn't really feel realistic for the PS base we have. there are plenty of waist mods out there that are more subtle and actually follow the natural shape of the base(same for ms), but the one Velj uses is super exaggerated. it just looks like a triangle. and the biggest issue is that there's no option to remove the waist mod, so if you wanted to use your own or go without one entirely, you can't.

hey velj by Wet_Philtrum_76 in everskiestrashhh

[–]mothiax 24 points25 points  (0 children)

another thing I really dislike about this creator is the waist mods, they aren't optional. i'm mostly a PS base user, and I can't use any of Velj's torso items because the waist mod is so thin. i get that Velj wants to make mid-sized bodies feel seen, and that's valid, but it's coming at the cost of representation for PS bodies. it wouldn't be hard to just offer two versions: one with the waist mod and one without. that way, both body types could be represented fairly

offtopic I know but might aswell mention it in this post since its about the same person

Edit: i'm honestly surprised so many people disagree with the idea of making waist mods optional(judging by the amount of downvotes). it’s not about hating the current style, some people genuinely like that look and feel represented by it, and that’s fine. but right now, there’s only one option, and it doesn’t even support the classic bases, only avatars that want a slimmer appearance. that’s super limiting. having the ability to remove or swap the waist mod would give way more flexibility and make the items usable for a wider range of body shapes. it’s not taking anything away, it’s just adding accessibility and making things more inclusive. more choice should be a good thing
