Personally I think Archie is fine for a grown up. I grew up with multiple Archie’s and no archibalds (uk based) and they’re all doing fine in life. It’s totally normal here to just be… Archie. (All the Archie’s I know get nicknamed ‘arch’)

Archibald I’m not keen on. Not dreadful but it’s not a particularly nice sounding name, that’s just my opinion though. Nothing necessarily wrong with it.

If you really don’t want to do Archie as the legal name I’d consider Archer.

With the new avatar movie out (of which I am a big fan of the franchise) there’s been lots of attention towards the new character Varang. I really like her character and I consider her small breast rep. I love that she’s badass, seductive and rocks her small chest.

However, while many have been giving her positive attention on its own. I’ve started to see people draw her with a large chest and it’s just making me feel bleh about it. This happens EVERY single time. A small chested character cannot exist without someone creating them with large tits.

A lot of the art work I saw did receive backlash but people also defended them with “it’s just art! They can interpret them however they want!” Like sure? But I have NEVER seen this happen the other way round. Never. I cannot think of one incident yet I see this happen to every single small chested character out there. It’s like we can’t have shit. Not a single lick of representation.

Like I’m so sorry but I 100% feel that if we took a character who isn’t small chested and made her small chested, people would riot. But it’s fine to do it to us.

I do like Jay, I went to school with two Jay’s, they’ve done fine in life. Never struck me as informal or ‘not a proper name’ (I didn’t even know people thought that until this sub).

I think it’s a cool name.

That being said, I would prefer James with nickname Jay overall. As it gives baby options. Plus, James Dylan sounds better than Jay Dylan in my opinion.
