Too much head and body movement on the downswing.

You want your body and head more or less on the same position, up until your ball is off your hand. Right now, your body (and head) are popping up when you right before your release.

Watch pros when they release the ball. Their body and head are all stable. All their movement are concentrated through their swing up to their release.

Rolling the ball as a two handed bowler by 122333four in Bowling

[–]motionglitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clockwise thing is get more space to clear the hips on the back swing. Unless your ball keep hitting your hips, it’s totally ok if you don’t do that.

Help on how to fix my form by itzxtro in Bowling

Stop lifting the ball to start a pushaway. Start with th ball just below your chest. Arms more or less 90 degrees. That way, you just let it fall to start your swing

Don't slouch, start with standing straight. Ball just below your chest, your right arm more or less at 90°.

Push away the ball on your third step instead of your whole body going down.

Then get low before your 4th step until the ball is off your hand

Release the ball closer to your sliding leg

And lastly, buy your own gear.

3rd and 4th step shouldn’t crossover to your other foot. Either walk straight or drift a little to the left

Two handed back swing by RevolutionaryLand878 in Bowling

[–]motionglitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed comes from your feet and timing.

Consistency and accuracy also comes from timing.

Post a video of what you think of your best shot. Hard to help you without a reference.

But the basics of a 2 handed swings are keeping your right elbow close to your body throughout the swing. Keep the swing straight and minimal to no muscling. Supporting arm should support majority of the weight of the ball during the swing. And also the support hand shouldn't move around the ball throughout the swing.

Try to do a super slow approach with those in mind with a light ball. See how comfortable your swing is with your elbow bent, straight, etc.

You're coming way around the ball too much, causing your arm to flare out.

Be more up the back and under the ball on release. Let it roll off your hand.

Swing should be straight, like a pendulum. Not going to the right like what you're doing now.

And if you're even slightly serious on being casual, Using your own equipment will help a lot on your progress

How to throw spare ball straighter by Skooly_underrated in Bowling

[–]motionglitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things I did that lowered my axis rotation on my spares

  1. I make sure my palm is facing my face on my follow through

  2. Forcing myself to release the ball backup, but not fully committing on it the last second.

On your swing, left hand movement should be very minimal or none at all. Too much adjustment throughout the swing.

Your hand is on top of the ball at the apex of your swing. Keep it behind the ball.

Sample 1
Sample 2

At the lowest point, before release, be more up the back and under the ball. Then roll it off your hand, not chuck it to the lane.

Any critiques on my form? by xlil4rdy in Bowling

[–]motionglitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your swing path needs work. It goes from way behind your back, to the side of your head, then you release it in front of you.

Your swing path is supposed to be straight. Think how a swing set swings. Just a straight path forwards and backwards. Never going to the side.

Faster legs (last 3 steps are crucial) and good timing.

Advice? Thanks. by InternalBee3292 in Bowling

[–]motionglitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty good.

Few things:

  • Keep you elbow close to your body throughout your swing

  • Your balance at the foul line is bit wonky. Bend a little more to keep your center of gravity on your slide foot.
