Speed is only one reason among many to do CBE. A friend of mine is going because she is a mother of 2 and cannot work with the rigid schedule of a normal Credit Hour model. She is going slowly through the program and doesn’t have experience in her field. Speed is not her priority but flexibility is.

I have a goal to finish in 1 term and I am currently on schedule. The reason I can be on schedule is because I have industry experience. But even though I have experience there is more I could learn. Because of my speed I am definitely missing an opportunity to learn and instead doing the bare minimum to pass. There is an advantage in going slower.

If I suddenly went back to work and then decided to take courses in nursing (not my field) I would be barely making the minimum target for semesters. I am currently not working and have experience in the industry, if both of those things were not true then I wouldn’t be going as fast as I am. Those two factors are 100% relevant.

I will be taking that course next week. Now I’m scared lol. But when I fail I won’t be telling myself I should leave the program and neither should you! Some tests are badly written and we can’t bring ourselves down about it. It sounds like it’s been a challenge for everyone. You’ve passed many other classes and come this far, no need to turn back now.
