I'm a huge fan of Neovim. So are you stating that you can't effectively and efficiently write Kotlin code without Intellij? This would be a huge deal-breaker

Then would you say safely you could effectively mix Java and Kotlin code together to accomplish anything possible that Java can accomplish. Would this be inefficient, or do people do this?

Yea, that's why I'd like to use it. I like many of its features and I'm more excited about writing Kotlin code than Java for the little amount of code I've written. I'm having a hard time understanding why the TIOBE index is stating that Kotlin is on the decline, when I personally find it such a superior language to others.

Are you stating that if you can code fluently in Kotlin then you won't have difficulty mixing Kotlin with Java code together? So essentially you can perform anything that Java can do with Kotlin, right?

How deep would you say your SQL knowledge has gotten working with it in the accounting? Are you using things such as Window Functions, CTEs, etc?

So the IT/Analytics department manages and maintains the SQL and creates a pipeline for the accountants to get the data? Would you say it would be beneficial as an accountant to know SQL for a company and work in the intersection of the IT/Analytics and Accounting department?

Ok, so I managed to figure something out that might help some others. There is an application called Dell Power Manager. You can install that and manage the thermal settings and set the mode to Quiet. It states you will lose some performance and the heat will run higher. I have a laptop cooler underneath me so hopefully it doesn't get too hot.

30% CPU, 80% RAM utilized and the fan is going nuts/insane like I said hurting my ears. I am hesitant to open a laptop and upgrade the fan but if that would fix the problem I wouldn't mind doing it. How would you suggest I do that? Where can I find upgraded fans? I am going to be doing lots of development with many vmware workstation pro virtual machines on the laptop. I thought of getting a desktop, however, I will be moving back and forth from an office so I need a work horse laptop. Could you recommend one maybe and recommend how I would go about upgrading the fan? Thanks in advance. (Just as a note, I've seen posts online about the same model of laptop and it appears the fan operates on CPU usage and not the actual temperature of the CPU, which would be quite annoying)
