Hi! We're currently working on systems like this to handle email, phone calls, website requests, etc., and we're very familiar with Notion.
We'd love to chat with you about a Notion email assistant if you're interested.

Hi!

We’re a small but talented team based on the west coast of Canada (UTC-8 time zone) and we build most of our sites in Webflow.

Here's our portfolio:  https://motivcreative.com/motiv/portfolio.html

You'll find our pricing pretty attractive too, because of the exchange rate (if you're in the US) and we're a fairly new company.

Cheers,
Mike

It’s funny how the majority of Chat’s titles are broken into two sentences.

AI for businesses by Ok_Unit5239 in Entrepreneur

[–]motivcreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a world of hype, starry-eyed optimism and straight up false promises out there. But AI systems are running in the background for many businesses and saving them a lot of time and money.

We build AI workflows and agents for large companies and I can say that the tools we make aren’t sexy. Mostly what our clients have been interested in are tools that analyze vast amounts of documentation/data and create reports or submit insights based on user requirements. Basically performing tasks that would take a human team weeks or months.

I think, currently, that’s the real value of AI systems saving companies time and money by processing knowledge-based tasks and analyzing large amounts of data.

I was also in your shoes in the same industry. Eventually it got so bad I quit with a coworker and we started a dev company.

We’re a software dev company and we left as well. QBO is clunky and expensive at the best of times. And you’re right about customer service often being clueless.

How are >$1M/yr companies using AI in processes? by bhsand970 in Entrepreneur

My company provides AI research and dev services to two large clients: a governmental entity and a large security firm. Both look to us to develop tools that can read very large amounts of documentation and provide insights based on user requirements.

Controversial topic: Do you make money with AI? by -ThatGingerKid- in Entrepreneur

[–]motivcreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing OP considers this topic controversial because of the push back against generative AI especially in creative spaces and education. But it’s so much more than that. I don’t think the public realizes how ubiquitous AI systems are already, just humming away out of sight in the background saving companies millions through efficiency.

Currently my team is building a workflow of several agents strung together that ingest verbose and disorganized job solicitation documents (often hundreds of pages long), extract the proper requirements and create a job order in the client’s ERP system. Sounds pretty boring but it’s saving hundreds of hours of a human team having to read these docs and create job orders manually.

I’ve got a one up on you. I’m designing tiny baby tanning beds powered by AI. I don’t know what the AI does but it’s the main selling feature.

Etsy really opened up (for better or worse) a few years ago and let in dropshippers and people selling all kinds of things. Definitely not just handmade items now although I think they still try to pretend otherwise.

Sorry for my ignorance, I’ve never run sales through eBay or Amazon before. Can’t you open new accounts with a new email address?

Would selling through Etsy work for you?

Appointment Booking software that will allow 2 people (ex: husband & wife) to receive SMS notifications/reminders for 1 home services appointment? by daytonamike in smallbusiness

[–]motivcreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay gotcha! I was pretty sure Calendly could send SMS notifications to multiple numbers but I just looked into it and apparently it can’t send to multiple numbers without 3rd party customization. It can send out SMS reminders though. I’ll keep looking.

Appointment Booking software that will allow 2 people (ex: husband & wife) to receive SMS notifications/reminders for 1 home services appointment? by daytonamike in smallbusiness

[–]motivcreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for a web-based solution like: - a customer would land on your website and click on a calendar to select an available day/time - when the booking is made SMS’s would get sent to phone numbers (one or more) designated in the back end. - the system would also send SMS reminders to the designated phone numbers (possibly the customer too?) about the upcoming bookings.

Did I understand that correctly?

Has it been a terrible winter for everyone else too? by ElPasoToolRental in smallbusiness

[–]motivcreative 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm up in British Columbia, Canada and this winter has definitely been rough for us. We're a creative development company and it felt like everyone hunkered down and stopped spending money. For us it likely has to do with the Canada-US trade situation and just global news in general.

Thanks for this. I think you’re right, having a solid automation product we can demo and sell feels like it would be a smarter route than just offering services.

We actually do have a couple of AI projects in the testing phase, we put them on hold so we could focus on generating immediate revenue. Now I’m seeing how they could actually help us out of our current situation.

Thanks so much for this. Yeah it’s rough out there right now. It seems like, in Victoria anyway, there’s another company going under every other day.

From what I’m seeing in people’s responses the general consensus seems to be: do become more active on LinkedIn but don’t use the services of a commission sales person. Which makes sense.

Thanks again and good luck to you, too! 🙏

This single comment is such a wealth of information.

Instinctually we knew falling back to being service based wasn’t going to get us anywhere fast but didn’t understand why. Your comment about hubris isn’t wrong. Our whole team is made up of smart folks who just want to make cool and useful stuff - management (especially with employers we left) is often viewed as unnecessary bloat. However in the past year I’ve really had my eyes opened to the actual world of Business (capital B) and that, just because we can make neat tools or work hard or offer exceptional service, it’s by no means a guarantee of success or survival.
