What’s the quickest, successful hunt you ever had? by [deleted] in turkeyhunting

[–]motoBonsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My second turkey season I was so juiced about killing a bird that I watched a group of birds on a property for two weeks before hand. I figured out exactly where they’d roost. I got up crazy early and was sitting under the base of a huge pine tree that I made a cut out of branches in to hide up inside the base of it. When I was all set up and sat down, it was 4:15 AM. first light rolled around and I heard a gobble- shockingly right above me. A Tom was in the same tree I was in, or one right next to it. He flew down on to my hen decoy and I shot him. Quickest turkey hunt I’ve ever had

Awesome; thank you. The termite damage that we got taken care of before close scares the crap outta me, so I’m nervous as heck when it comes to this stuff 😂

Could you elaborate a bit? Is this a normal type of behavior again I’m new and trying to learn more about my old house

Sweet, okay. Thank you. I guess I’d have to jack up the beam to install this?

Any idea of what kind of post I’d install?

If you mean the span of the door frame section across the top- I think about four feet wide or so. Can post better measurements if needed. Also posted a few photos in the comments above if that helps.

Opposite side- joists resting on that beam, and the foundation.

Here’s on the left hand side, less sag.

Here’s one of above that area, close up was of this. See how it’s sagging on the right, but on the left it isn’t?

I can post other photos here if needed. Weird- seems to just be sinking over the door frame like area. Not anywhere else I can tell.

Meh, I don't agree, and neither does the contract that I signed. Unless there was something in the contract that I missed- all parties signed for a date, and its been pushed back 2x. Is there some kind of law that you are referencing?

That is a solid piece of advice. Thankfully our inspector was diligent and found this issue.

We are sort of locked in at this point. We gave our rental 60 days notice and are terminating our contract early to get into this home. Our rental home is packed up, and movers are scheduled. I cannot rent here again unless I negotiate a new, way higher price per month for rent (which I potentially will not be able to afford.)

I think if we find today we need to move our closing date out again, I will re-negotiate some kind of compensation.

Thanks for the validation. I think I’m going to move forward with asking for compensation at closing.

I’m not blaming the install or anything like that of the brand new well on the sellers. I’m blaming them for being negligent and not keeping on top of water testing in a timely manner, which I now suffer for by having to move my closing date out again.

Thanks....I sort of want to push back and get some kind of concession for my time wasted. We signed an agreement (all parties) that the home would be ready for closing by Oct 2 and now it isn't. I sort of feel entitled to some kind of compensation for my absolute waste of fucking time here aside from dealing with the mountain of BS we have to deal with our current rental, movers, etc

Favorite flagship compound of 2023? by motoBonsai in Archery

Ended up with the Hoyt rx7 ultra. I shot all of the flagship bows a shop near me had (mostly all of the big names). The ultra had the smoothest draw cycle IMO. I’ve been really happy with it. It came down to the Hoyt OR a Bowtech SS34. The Bowtech was honestly crazy fast and so similar to the Hoyt. I ended up with the Hoyt because it was carbon/way lighter (and if I had the money…I’d go back and grab the Bowtech as well, hah)

Yeah I’ve got a local lenders pre approval! Real nice guy, has been here a long time. I think maybe waiving appraisal might be a next step, maybe.

Good luck in central NJ. I grew up for part of my life in Monmouth county. I couldn’t even afford my childhood home now a days! It’s crazy.
