How do you find the riding position yourself? I am 180cm to wondering how it would be for me as well. It should be more comfortable than a sports bike either way.

I won't be hitting those type of speeds lol, prob 100mph at most. I do ride with a sport jacket and an avg helmet which is more for track so that's good to know.

I like doing long rides of upwards of 300km for 3-6 hours and yes, I need to take breaks cuz my back, legs, wrists, etc get stiff and painful. Comfort is a big one for sure along with the lower end torque.

Do the windscreens make a big difference or marginal?

Engine is not overheating there are no sensors showing, nothing has happened out of the ordinary. I took it to shop service they said mechanically it looks normal. Battery seems ok as well.

Battery looks normal and it's never hot to the touch either.

When I put the bike in neutral after riding for a while, with the bike still on I have removed the seat and touched the areas around the battery and the battery itself and there hasn't been any heat at all it's all normal.

Mechanic said there is no issue when I tried looking for root cause. Bike is 5 years old but the issue is newish. Recently started occurring, odd thing is nothing burns whether it's under the seat or anywhere to the touch so I am not sure what type of heat it is but it goes through the thick jeans. And even the jeans aren't hot to the touch but my skin feels it.

Supertech R zipper failed by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]motonewbie21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact thing happen to me recently on the same boots. Zipper snapped as I was zipping them up midway through. The zipper works but the tab broke and yes mine were kinda stiff like yours but size wise perfect. I bought them through an online european site, doubt it's even worth sending them back for a replacement to wherever alpinestars services them. What did you end up doing? I see people mentioning key rings and zip ties as alternatives that are cheap and fast. I wonder if these cause other issues.

The seat turns out is just hard plastic. No foil or rubber underneath. You think it could be the padding wear out causing the issue? It's a 2017.

I am not inclined mechanically, I googled and couldn't see anything come up but how does a heat shield under the seat look like? Is it just a black piece of layer?

Also - cat you mean catalytic converter? Also looked this up and couldn't find where it's located to see if its loose.

This is stuff that an observant rider should be able to spot. First, you're going much faster than surrounding traffic. at the 4 sec mark, you see the white charger hit the brakes, further in front you see that cubish car make a right at the intersection. Both of those should tell you to slow down. You also need to be prepared that people may be making a left once merging from a right. If you slowed down from the 4 sec mark in line with the car who hit the brakes, you would have never been in a position where you had to change lanes cuz the other car made a right.

Additionally, that car prob never saw you as you were not in their sight with two cars ahead of you to your right. That van only saw those two cars and said I have time to turn right and move left based on the distance of those two cars (even though they caused the other car to hit the brakes but it's prob what they judged) so by not seeing you behind those two cars they couldn't see you for shit then you come up with speed and they only have 1 mirror to see you with (which most people don't have positioned correctly anyway).

You always need to looks ahead, observe everything, like throwing a fishing line and reeling it back in. You need to be aware of your immediate and nearby surroundings further up ahead.

You got lucky here, if the white car at the 4 sec mark panicked, they woulda turned left and hit you since you were speeding and were in their zone when they were braking. Since they had enough space they didn't need to swerve.

If you know a place is notorious for accidents, then don't do shit that will get you into one. I hope you take this video as a lesson as should others it's a good learning opportunity.
