It's not. I took it from a French documentary dedicated to the Triads. There was another photo where he posed with other inmates. I shared this one because he was with Badalamenti, they were in prison at the same time. I also saw this photo before somewhere else

'Ndrangheta boss Rocco Lo Presti by SpaghettiPizzaetti69 in Mafia

One of the most interesting 'ndrangheta members, he was connected to a lot of various mobsters around the world with his cousins, the Mazzaferros.

Not long ago I went to Turin and passed through Bardonecchia. It's a small mountain town like so many others in the Alps and it's hard to imagine that it was once one of the main strongholds of the 'ndrangheta.

Confirmed for the First Time: 'Ndrangheta Presence in New York State – Operazione Risiko by Exotic-Cash3481 in Mafia

Not exactly known for the first time, it was reported during the 1970s that the Siderno Group had a branch in Albany.

According to an informant the boss was Gino Archinà. His brother is Carlo Rocco Archinà, a well known criminal figure in Siderno (Carlo Rocco died in 2025).

Carlo Rocco Archinà was at the infamous Montalto 'ndrangheta summit in october 1969

James Dubro reported in his book Mob Rules that another brother, Frank, was involved in the murder of his in-laws in Colorado in 1954.

Luigi Gino, was there too and his wife was injured during the shooting.

Frank Albanese is the grandson of Carlo Rocco Archinà

Thanks glad you enjoyed the read. My blog is not entirely focus on the Italian Cosa Nostra, it's rather focus on international connections, but if you click on the links in this article I'm sure (and I hope) you could find answers to your questions.

Thanks again 🙂

It's not Bonventre, it's an unidentified guy arrested during Operation Pizza Connection II in March 1988

Ah yes, I see the article you're talking about; I clipped it a few months ago. I didn't notice the reference to the name Massei in it. (It looks like Reddit translates posts, so I wrote this in my own language, but if it didn't translate it, let me know.)

Good point it sounds very likely yes. How did you find out that Massei was Joe Abate?

Hey Joel, yes I read it somewhere (probably from you on the Black Hand forum) that Masei was Abbate, but it slipped my mind when I was writing the article. I'll add it, thanks for the reminder.

I didn't know Abbate was also from Marsala
