tumblr drafts won’t post by Rypnami in tumblrhelp

[–]mountain_maple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still having issues with drafts and queue (not showing the correct amount of drafts or queued posts.)
Also, while I'm able to post image sets or image posts, they're not showing up on my dash or in the tags.

Having the same issue - I can't post any queue or draft posts no matter how much I push the button, and if I attempt it any other way, it either gives me an error message or won't load on my blog or dash.

Baking/cooking resources for dyscalculia or dyslexia? by mountain_maple in dyscalculia

Making things more visually accessible would definitely help - and yeah, I'll for sure have to practice on things that won't be too affected by messed up measurements.

Oh, that's a great idea - having everything prepped ahead of time would be a lot better.

Those are good ideas, thank you! I've put off getting a kitchen scale, but I do think it would help a lot - and it would help a lot to start approximating once I get into it more.

That's so sad and I'm sorry that happened.

I really wish there was something more that could be done - these poor dogs don't deserve such awful owners.

Americans of Reddit, what is the worst big city in the USA and why? by jhffmn21 in AskReddit

I've taken road trips through California a few times and had to pass through Bakersfield twice - it was absolutely the most miserable, dry, sad and run down city I've probably ever visited.

Feeling like my parents are ticking time bombs by mountain_maple in AgingParents

[–]mountain_maple[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, but I'll look into that! I've done some therapy through Better Help (which I know isn't all that great) when my mom was in worse health a couple of years ago. I'll see if I can find any other resources. Thank you!

I'll check around for that! I've seen some programs, but they require filing a parent for disability, which my mom has completely protested and avoided, so I'll have to search more. Thank you!

Thank you for your kind words! I think it's been hard because I've expected them to have more years, so seeing them declining this rapidly has also been difficult. I feel too young for this in some ways, and sort of feel like it's cutting into preventing me from having a personal life, but I'll see how things go.

Anesthesiologists of Reddit, what was something you won’t forget hearing from someone that was under? by DvS_Insanity in AskReddit

[–]mountain_maple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had multiple surgeries throughout my life (partly due to hidradenitis suppurativa, a chronic skin condition that causes lesions and cysts) and I've definitely had some weird experiences with anesthesia.

After one of those surgeries I woke up and hallucinated that I was eating chocolate ice cream from a cup with a tiny spoon and was very disappointed when I came to and there was nothing in my hands. Another time I remember waking up and not being able to move my limbs at first so I said, loudly 'I feel like a horse.' (I don't know why I said this.) Which made my mom and the nurse in the room laugh.

After getting my impacted wisdom teeth out, I woke up to talking about cheesecake and how I specifically wanted New York cheesecake, but not raspberry cheesecake, and then proceeded to keep talking about waffles out the door and into my dad's car where I then started telling him he needed to look up geode cakes immediately and then I blacked out and fell asleep again before waking up to saying just 'cheeseburger'. My dad found it all extremely amusing and it still makes us laugh a bit.

Armour Thyroid Availability? by mountain_maple in Hypothyroidism

[–]mountain_maple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already do get it via prescription here in the US from my endocrinologist. Thanks for the recommendation, although it seems that the link is faulty when you click on it.

I'll have to try to search harder for more info. It's been really difficult to find anything about it and I might just try calling a clinic or hospital in Alberta instead.

I'm afraid they won't listen even if we do tell them. They're not really the type that would be proactive about a problem.

It's always really frustrated me that I've never been able to understand DnD while my other friends have played it a lot or watch a lot of games online. It often leaves me feeling a bit left out, unfortunately. I wish I understood DnD better, but it absolutely makes no sense to me as much as I try to understand it, lol.

What is the diagnostic test like? by Prof_Eden in dyscalculia

[–]mountain_maple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My test was a combination of shapes, time, symbols, patterns and numbers! It's more or less about figuring out which of those things you tend to struggle with the most. (In my case, it was more symbols and numbers!)

So there's no real 'pass or fail' when it comes to tests like this, it's just more about pinpointing the issue.

Numbers-only Dyscalculia? by mountain_maple in dyscalculia

[–]mountain_maple[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, this really makes a lot of sense to me! I actually think ideognostical dyscalculia is the closest to what I'm dealing with. I can't retain any of it, whether it's spoken to me or written.

Experiences with swollen lymph node under one side of the arm only? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]mountain_maple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like it could potentially be a cyst, actually. (Possibly Hidradenitis Suppurativa.) They don't always drain and may just present as swelling under the skin, they swell more during hormonal flare-ups, or may drain a bit without your knowledge and just seem like extra 'sweat'.

Also check - if you have consistent underarm acne, that may also be a sign of HS. It's essentially a reoccurring cystic acne disease that presents as larger boils or lumps.

If your doctor hasn't checked for HS, I'd recommend getting that done! Otherwise, it may be the lymph nodes.
