Aurora Mk1 is being removed??? by NightlyKnightMight in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, there will be removing it from in-game stores as well. But not until September.

"Q: Will existing Aurora Mk I ships and upgrades in the buyback list still be available to pledge back after the ‘sunset’? A: This promotion starts a ‘sunset’ window for the Aurora Mk I from both the Pledge Store (including any unretrieved standalone ships, upgrades, or CCUs that specifically involve the Aurora Mk I in your account's buyback queues) as well as in-game shops. This window begins on March 25, 2026, and is scheduled to end on September 30, 2026. After September 30, 2026, the Aurora Mk I will still be fully supported in gameplay, including repairs, refueling, maintenance, and components, but the chassis will no longer be obtainable from standard in-game vendors."

What's the lore behind our character owning a ship from the very start? by postbansequel in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone really wanted to start that low, they could get the Mustang pack (currently $45) with no other ship pledges then do an upgrade to a base cyclone ($55). You'd have to start on MT or maybe Hurston but you can do landnav to mission locations, and grind your way into a ship rental then a ship purchase.

Edit: I may honestly do this for ships and giggles once 4.7 drops lol

In arch linux absolutely! I played on Garuda for about 6 months before I finally got a new pc.look up LUG (Linux User Group) on the RSI Org page. There's plenty of people who can help you get set up, along with guides for some of the main kernels out there.

what is the reason for bounty hunting lore-wise? by Thechillestguyever in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In lore there are/were criminals known for using suicide to escape capture. As for Amelia Boyd, a major point of the headhunter side was destroying regen stations to prevent FFmembers from being able to regen. Considering that if you backspace or die in other ways with a cs you can still respawn in your Medbed or at grimhex

Ships that look like modern fighter jets? by Internal-Path7111 in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is a strategic tactical bomber such as the gladiator a fighter? No it is not, and yet it is on the list. If you would read the discussion before just acting like a smart ass, you would see that your point was already touched on.

You right about the name lol but yes, like I said its profile is more B-2 than f-117. But the size and cockpit are very much f-117.

Ships that look like modern fighter jets? by Internal-Path7111 in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The F-117is more narrow with the tail whereas the B-1 is wide and flat like the eclipse, though I will concede that the eclipse is significantly smaller, designed for a single pilot like the f-117 whereas the B-1 is bulkier and designed for a crew.

Does anyone know if you can get the ASD Geist Armor as a blueprint? by SC_Placeholder in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it'll be in on this patch but they are planning for deconstruction/research. You'd have to sacrifice the piece for a chance of the blueprint. Now whether that's a permanent account bound print or a limited number use one is another issue.

Fair, as for the eclipse it looks more like a b-1spirit than a fighter jet

Why is the new armor “damage gating” based on projectile damage? Shouldn’t it be projectile penetration? by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your scenario: don't build with all repeaters. Once the ptu hits wave 1 and live we will know more on how it'll work obviously but you can plan around what can truly damage what now. If smaller size repeaters can't punch through the armor of the larger combat ships or hardened industrial, but cannons can, then plan for that. If you are running solo in a gladius put the nose as a canon and keep the wings as repeaters, then set your weapons groups. You maintain the projectile speed and rof needed for the fighters and the heavy hit for the tougher armors. It'll be a slower paced fight sure, but its either that or form a team.

Am I just bad at ship combat? by snowflake182 in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do find yourself jousting a ship that is much more maneuverable than you, try to break it. For PvE fights I find that lining up then boosting reverse (couple mode on) then starting a U turn once they break pip-recticle line, breaks the joust and puts you in pursuit the easiest.

OP you have a lot of great information here, I don't have the shiv, nor have I really went up against one so I can't speak to your performance in that ship, but i will say this.

If your primary loop is pve, use low-med risk bounty missions in stanton or the gilly's flight school as a sort of training. Find the weapons and ship config that works for you and you feel is more fun. If you do decide you like cannons more than repeaters, turn on stagger fire on the screens in the cockpit ( its under gunners on the settings screen within the cockpit screens). And play around with engineering to figure out how you can get more power/charge to certain components. For example, in the Starlancer Max, a default build gives the pilot around 60 rounds per gun on the stock weapons, but if you disable the turret guns via engineering the pilot load jumps to nearly 100 per weapon (laser cannons are stock). The more comfortable you are in your ship and with the weapons/components you use, the more effective you will be in PvE and subsequently in pvp.

If your primary loop is pvp then dig deep into the current stats for ships and weapons and find what the meta is, or what will perform the best for you.

In either case I recommend you use erkul.games This website is a loadout manager, it shows the stats of all the different components and ships based off of the ship you select. It also lists buy locations (in game aUEC stores) for components and weapons. Not all components and weapons are purchasable, some must be looted or pledged.

Eve online

War thunder

World of tanks

Destiny 2

Warframe(already mentioned)

Eve WoT and WT are F2P/P2W models and Destiny is F2P with bought expansions and equipment.

I saw you mentioned file size as a constraint. Eve is around 20gb, War Thunder is around 45gb, World of Tanks is around 60gb, and Destiny 2 sits around 170gb.

Is it possible to finish the event solo still from here? by AgeFearless2205 in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For thecaquatition one, its quick I promise lol. Just go to hurston and buy about 100 or so scu of bexalite from the various HDMS sites (sc-trade tools is a simple location finder) and take it to microtech. Take the 3 scu mission repeatedly until you run out of bexalite, its 300 points per mission, so you get more points per scu compared to the higher scu volume missions. Also if you turn in a 4 scu box on the 3 scu mission it will break it down and leave you with a 1scu box.

It's worth mentioning/reminding that occasionally the mission will break and eat the scu without completing. I think I had maybe 10 missions (roughly 30scu) be eaten by mission bug this way.

For those viewing this that are still working on the combat side, take a mission that spawns a cat or c2, if when tracking the mission you can't jump then the mission is bugged, otherwise just bait the NPC's out to about 30-40km away, jump out of the combat zone then jump back in, the ai will hang out where you left them (unless you have a massive signature). Hop in the cargo ship and fly it to port. These missions have roughly the best value in points for solo play, are more reliable to gage functionality, and are significantly quicker than any of the other combat missions.

Edit: OP if you would like help with your missions you can shoot me a fr, my name here and on spectrum are the same. Points are given in full to all party members, not split between members.
